Hog Basser Posted January 26, 2017 Posted January 26, 2017 Fishing during duck season in Arkansas...only near 80 degrees this last weekend, so why not? This is two fish...I did the long arm and the normal pose to show the difference on each one. Both caught on a bladed jig with craw trailer. The big one went 3.98 and the other was about 3.25. Had a business partner I was guiding catch a 4.64 and a 5.6 on Monday afternoon in the same spot within his first 10 minutes of being there on a spinner bait. 7 Quote
Airman4754 Posted February 8, 2017 Posted February 8, 2017 Finally got the big spot I've been after in the creek near my house. Rage Space Monkey did the trick. 7 Quote

That one has a spot built into the deck for it so it takes up zero space. I'll get a longer one once I can start fishing kayak tournaments I'm sure. Catching them too long for board isn't ever a bad thing though 2 Quote
Super User Darren. Posted February 11, 2017 Super User Posted February 11, 2017 I'll bet your kayak tourneys require the Hawg Trough? Though I don't fish 'em, I believe some locally do. I use one and though awesome, it can break easily. Have had to use zip ties and super glue to keep it together. 1 Quote

On a weak little jerkbait rod too, it was a heck of a fight. I think it was probably my PB smallie, I didn't have a scale though. Quote
Airman4754 Posted February 11, 2017 Posted February 11, 2017 We got this little chunker on Guntersville today in the grass on a drop shot. Pretty slow day overall though. 6 Quote
WDE Posted February 13, 2017 Posted February 13, 2017 Put in about 4 hours over 6 ponds today. Landed 3. Largest was somewhere in the neighborhood of 3.5-4lbs. 6 Quote
TravisVirginiaAngler Posted February 14, 2017 Posted February 14, 2017 10.5 pounds. 4 fish. 3, 3 pounders on shaky head zoom cranberry flake colored in 2 hours. 8 Quote
Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted February 14, 2017 Global Moderator Posted February 14, 2017 Wore these little dudes out. Fished for 1.5 hours and barely moved. Stopped at a nice even 50 so I could get some sleep today. Only took 1 rod with 1 65 pointer and that was all I needed. A bunch of cold water dinks in February, I'm not complaining. 7 Quote
Smokinal Posted February 15, 2017 Posted February 15, 2017 Man you guys are killin me! Some really great reports recently. Wish I had some soft water. Quote
Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted February 15, 2017 Global Moderator Posted February 15, 2017 Beautiful day out today. Got done filling bait orders and couldn't help but go back to my dink lake. They were not stacked like yesterday, or I wasn't catching them as good. I did get what was by far the biggest bass I'd caught from there at that spot. decided to go hit the mouth of the main spawning cove. Casting my.little 65 pointer and catching dinks pretty steady, I was thinking if there's a big one in here, she ought to be soaking up this sun right on the edge of this flat. Sure enough, she was there! No scale, wasn't expecting to catch a 2 pounder, let alone one like that. Fat and healthy and she swam away strong after her glamour shots. 6 Quote
Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted February 17, 2017 Global Moderator Posted February 17, 2017 I'm on a role now! Biggest bass I've caught in a few years on a homemade football jig in thE same color as Seiberts Bluebasser86 storm series jigs, 15 Quote
NCbassraider Posted February 18, 2017 Posted February 18, 2017 After a good day of bass fishing the bite went cold late in the day today when suddenly I caught three monster crappy on a jerk bait. In 5 minutes I caught a 1 lb 14oz, l lb 11oz and this big 2 lb 2oz. I know the State record is well over 3 lbs but a 2 pound crappy is not that common and I caught 3 big ones in about 8 casts. Crazy. 6 Quote
Super User everythingthatswims Posted February 19, 2017 Super User Posted February 19, 2017 Put my kayak on a small lake here in Northern West Virginia today, I landed 6 small bass, one on the jerkbait, and the rest on a 1/4oz lipless. Water was freezing cold and they were incredibly sluggish but they know the days are getting longer! 4 Quote
