I did some homework and figured out how to get way upriver on the lake my next tournament is at.  I was getting sick of all the jet boat guys bragging about the awesome smallmouth fishing that us glass boat guys couldn't get to....Nothing gigantic but a lot of decent sized smallies were caught and they are a ton of fun up in that current ;).  We'll see if I can give them a run for their money this weekend!

This 4lb 10oz LMB was part of my 17lb 8oz bag that helped me secure my first win as a co :D. I had my limit by 8:30 am on a dropshot bite that stayed hot throughout the entire morning. It was tough to put it down, but I could not cull out a few of my smaller 14 and 15 inch fish with that technique. I picked up a homemade jig sometime around 11 am and made 3 or 4 critical culls including the fish in this photo. It was an awesome Saturday!

After a week of fishing lake Anna from my boat and catching nothing over 3 lbs, I decided to fish a local pond today. Ended up pulling in this 4 lb 7 oz fish on a drop shot. New personal best! Who needs those big lakes anyways ;)

First one was in about 6" visibility on a 1/4oz single colorado blade white spinnerbait. I had never actually thrown it but I know you're supposed to use it in muddy water haha. Second one was in water with 1-2' vis so I was just flipping a pegged baby brush hog in willow grass.

Spent the day on the water with @kickerfish1 and his dad hoping to put them on some Kansas smallmouth, the fish did not disappoint. Over 100 fish came to the boat, a mix of smallmouth, largemouth, spots, white bass, crappie, walleye, sauger, and drum. The water was still high and muddy from the constant rain, which normally produces tough fishing, but the fish are post spawn and hungry apparently. The white bass and smallmouth were all skinny from their recent spawns, but very active and cooperative, the whites were frustrating at times they were biting so aggressively. Lots of fish were left out just because it's hard to get good video with 3 in the boat.

I fished from my kayak for 45 minutes before a big storm came out of nowhere and chased me off Monday morning, but it was a productive 45 minutes, including my first catfish from the kayak.

Twice in 3 weeks I caught a new kayak PB. Same lake as the last one, but this time it was 4.43 pounds.

Not huge (3.5lb), but it's nice sometimes to re-visit a place you once dismissed as a dink factory, and find out you may have been wrong.

I'm at WVU for orientation, but when we drove up yesterday I couldn't help but stop for a few on deep creek lake in MD since it was so pretty. Also caught some smallmouth and largemouth on the river here in Morgantown.

We fished 5:30 til 11. Enough time to get in some fishing, and get off the lake before the heat and the drunks hit the water. Had some drunk jagleg talking crap from his dock as we were trolling by around 10am. Guess he thought he was cool standing next to his half million dollar Formula. No fish near his dock either. I figure bass don't like douchebags either
