boostr Posted September 3, 2014 Posted September 3, 2014 Yesterday we went out to some of the local ponds we haven't been to before, and see what they were carrying... According to the picture not much, but we had a good time. 2 Quote
Super User Master Bait'r Posted September 4, 2014 Author Super User Posted September 4, 2014 I absolutely love that! How old is he? I've been bringing my gf's 8yo son out fishing for bass and he has become obsessed after he landed a big pickerel on his first ever cast from a boat and I showed him how to hold a bass by the lip. It's awesome to see them anxious for the next tip or trick in hopes that he can have a "bass thumb" day haha. For a young boy's attention span to be riveted for that long, you know they're into it! But the endless stream of infinitely more complex questions... That takes a little bit of getting used to! 1 Quote
boostr Posted September 4, 2014 Posted September 4, 2014 He'll be four in November. I already taught him to lip, one of the first things I taught him in fishing besides casting. I think he's ready for Siebert jigs, he started copying all of my jig cadences with his little Spiderman rod. Quote
boostr Posted September 4, 2014 Posted September 4, 2014 Yeah, he's hooked. He wants to go fishing everyday. Quote
boostr Posted September 4, 2014 Posted September 4, 2014 Caught this guy yesterday evening at a new to me pond in like 15mns of getting there. My Jig hand has been on fire lately, but I'm only catching dinks, except for that 2lbr. Seems like these man made ponds don't have good size bass. Quote
boostr Posted September 4, 2014 Posted September 4, 2014 Time to get a boat, and chase the Hawgz. Quote

boostr Posted September 8, 2014 Posted September 8, 2014 Not much, but it's all I caught this weekend. Plus there were a few that spit the hook. Man, I've been on a dink tear lately. It's only gonna get tougher I think because it looks like the turn is starting to happen. 1 Quote
Stumphunter Posted September 8, 2014 Posted September 8, 2014 A great way to spend my Birthday morning, out on the water fishing... Not the biggest bass but big smiles. 1 Quote
JGBassinAL Posted September 9, 2014 Posted September 9, 2014 5.4 lbs on the left and 6.5 lbs on the right. Went fishing with a buddy on Labor Day and had the best day of fishing to date. I have had a rough go of it lately on the water, and I almost stayed home instead of fishing. Pulled up to a shell bed at daylight and proceeded to rip the lips off of A LOT of good fish. We had a 30 lb bag on Pickwick Lake, where my biggest bag had been 21 lbs. We left the spot as it is one of my buddys tournament spots, and found a huge school of 1.5 to 2 lbers and caught around 40 of them on a drop shot. It was an amazing day and although neither of those are my personal best fish, it was my personal best bag! This is why I fish, the pure enjoyment of catching these beautiful fish and then releasing them for a long healthy life! Edit: BTW, the XShip on the Chronarch CI4+ is something else, it feels like magic in your hands when landing a big fish! 1 Quote
