Just curious.  When you have a hook (regular, treble or otherwise) that is too dull and you need to get rid of it how do you go about doing it?

I put then in a pile and when the pile is big enough I put them in a bottle with a lid and toss them in the trash...

i usually put them in a box or wrap them in something so nobody gets stuck.  You would think they would have some sort of hook recycling program like they do for line

I collect them in an old plastic lure box, once the box is full I tape it up really well and throw it away.  If I just have one or two hooks I will use snips and cut the points off so they can't poke anyone.

I have an empty Gatorade bottle, and put all the old hooks in there. The wide mouth of their bottle makes it easier to drop even a 5/0 hook in there. I will also bunch up line I've removed and put it in the bottle, too.

I throw them in an old coffee can. When the can gets full, I duct tape the lid on and throw them in the trash.

I can honestly say I don't really lose treble hooks from being dull I lose the lures first.  I leave the hooks buried in whatever cover or structure I was snagged on and could not knock free with a lure retriever...
