CDMeyer Posted June 10, 2014 Posted June 10, 2014 Does anybody know of any Pro Bass Anglers that are on this forum? Quote
slimshad Posted June 10, 2014 Posted June 10, 2014 What is a "pro" fisherman anyway. I have made $1000's of dollars fishing tournaments. I have a few sponsors. I do not consider myself a "pro" fisherman though. Others will answer your question, I just want to know what is a "pro" 1 Quote
TrapperJ Posted June 10, 2014 Posted June 10, 2014 Getting paid to do something is my definition of a pro. I've won a few dollars I'm a pro too! 2 Quote
Hyrule Bass Posted June 10, 2014 Posted June 10, 2014 i remember Mike Iaconelli stopping by and posting on a few occasions, im sure others have too... Quote
Super User Jrob78 Posted June 10, 2014 Super User Posted June 10, 2014 I would consider someone a pro if their primary income comes from fishing. This could mean tournament fishermen or commercial fishermen. 2 Quote
Super User WIGuide Posted June 10, 2014 Super User Posted June 10, 2014 Google's definition of a professional - a person engaged in a specified activity as one's main paid occupation rather than as a pastime. Sorry all you tournament guys who have won some money fishing tournaments. If it's not your career, you aren't a pro. To ad to the post, I know Scott Martin has made some posts, but I'm not sure if it's actually him or if it's someone who is doing it for him. 2 Quote
Super User deaknh03 Posted June 10, 2014 Super User Posted June 10, 2014 Ive seen Ike post here, and even though they're not pro's, you can see Mattlures, Bobby Megastrike, Big O and other lure designers/manufacturers. Great sources of info. 1 Quote

DropTheBass Posted June 10, 2014 Posted June 10, 2014 There are many ways the word 'Pro' can be interpreted. These are two ways that are commonly brought up. 1. 'Pro' is short for the word 'Professional' which implies those who hold an occupation as a fisherman are considered as 'Pros'. 2. Today's usage of 'Pro' is stretched these days. Now, those who excel in fishing can also be considered as 'Pros'. It's up to you how you interpret 'Pro' as. 1 Quote

doyle8218 Posted June 10, 2014 Posted June 10, 2014 I would consider someone a pro if their primary income comes from fishing. This could mean tournament fishermen or commercial fishermen. You nailed that!!! 1 Quote
Super User J Francho Posted June 11, 2014 Super User Posted June 11, 2014 I know some pros. They get a 10% discount on tackle. Lol. I'd say by "pro" most mean either a working guide or competitive fisherman that derives the majority of their income from either. There's a few well known guides, and and a handful of guys that compete at the top levels on this site. 1 Quote
