So you get picked to be on a new game show where you have to catch as many bass as you can in 12 hours. The only information given to you is water clarity. The kicker is you only get one plastic, one crank (hard bait), one spinner/jig type bait. And one rod. One reel.

What do you do if clarity is clear?

What do you do if clarity is muddy?

My personal choices would be.

Clear Water

Crankbait : Scatter Rap Shallow in disco shad color

Plastic : Yum Dinger watermelon / red flake

Spinner/Jig : Siebert Outdoors Fogy in bluegill flash

Muddy Water

Crankbait : KVD 1.5 black back chartreuse

Plastic : Rage Tail Bug in blue craw

Spinner/jig : Cavitron Buzzbait in Black w gold prop

Rod : 7ft Duckett Micro Magic MHF

Reel : Shimano Metanium 6:2:1

P.s. First post, been lurking for a year. Learned so much. Love this place!

Welcome to the board.  This is a great topic for the many shore fishermen on the site.  Based solely on water clearity, I'd go with natural colored baits by my favorite companies for clear and the same baits, but different colors for muddy water.

Crank- Bill Norman Deep Little N , Nutter Shad/Chartreuse SX Shad

Plastic- Zoom G-Tail worm, Green Pumpkin/Black

Spinner-MegaStrike StrikeBack Spinnerbait-Ghost MInnow/Black

Rod-7ft. MH Berkley Lightning

Reel-Lews SpeedSpool SS1H

First welcome. I know for sure we have lots of lurkers who won't sign in and join in and chat with us. Every fisherman no matter what age brings something different to the conversation. We help each other become better fisherman. What lure is hot in your area might be hotter at another place too. Maybe it's a different presentation.

We need fresh blood to get involved and post here. Our future of this forum and bass fishing depends on it. We're all a tooth on a gear. We all mean something we're all important.
