Today I bought a lews tournament laser mg. I fished it for about an hour tonight and was really impressed. Such a smooth reel right out of the box and it casts a mile. Being stuff on the shore casting distance is huge for me.

I also purchased a castaway 7'0 MH. I have never really researched castaway or even heard much about them, but when at the local tackle store I loved this rod. I really hope these two items stay consistent in their performance.

Ps: I've already sent money for 36 combos for Tackle the Storm foundation. I'm having more fun fishing this year than any before.

About a decade ago, Castaway was huge here locally. I bought a few. I still have one. The Castaway skeletonsare pretty good rods. You will enjoy it.

Going way back, I fell in love with the Castaway "East Texas Grass Rake" - the original "punching" rod. I had 2 - one was stolen from my boat while getting gas at a marina. I look on ebay at least once a week for another one. The new Invicta series with the golf grip is sweet!

It's their castaway pro sport fished this morning with it. I caught two combos and the lews reel hauled them in like they were nothing. The castaway rod didn't miss a beat when setting the hook with a small punching rig.  :respect-059:
