I just upgraded my boat to a 24v trolling motor, just bought 2 new batteries and had a few questions about hooking everything up...  Can I run the trolling motor directly to the battery or is it better to have a plug??  Also, making sure I have this right...   Basically I would need to connect the two batteries using a cable and do so with a positive and a negative, then the free positive and negatives would run to the trolling motor...  Yes/no??  Thanks again guys!

Yep that how you hook up 24v, you don't have to have a plug but please have a fuse inline on the pos side

It is better to have a plug and unplug it when you charge the batteries.

I have a plug for my trolling motor and I put the same plug on my charger. I then can easily hook up the charger just by plugging in.

If you have an electric steer motor, the manufacturers require a plug.
