Morse643 Posted June 9, 2014 Posted June 9, 2014 Recently i ordered a reel off of tackle warehouse that was listed as being on back order until July 11th of this year. I was wondering if people have had any experiences with items on back order from tackle warehouse specifically reels. If you could outline your experiences with the back order process and if you received the item sooner than the listed date or later than the listed date it would be appreciated. I've asked some of my friends who said that sometimes items on back order arrive much sooner than the date listed on the website as the date of arrival. Thank you for your time! 1 Quote
Mr_Scrogg Posted June 9, 2014 Posted June 9, 2014 Wife bought me a MS Slammer for Xmas one time. It was back ordered. Date kept being pushed back. Finally got it around March. But thats a hand made swimbait. Not a reel. Good luck Quote
Super User Jrob78 Posted June 9, 2014 Super User Posted June 9, 2014 They will ship the item to you when it comes in. They have no control over when the manufacturer sends them a shipment. Quote
bootytrain Posted June 9, 2014 Posted June 9, 2014 Are you talking about the curado I? TW is the best at fast shipping. If they have it in stock it will usually ship in a day. Quote
Morse643 Posted June 9, 2014 Author Posted June 9, 2014 Yes im talking about the curado I left handed which is on backorder till july 11th. Right seems to be in stock but sadly im left handed lol Quote
bootytrain Posted June 9, 2014 Posted June 9, 2014 Well you can do what I did and literally checked every online vendor and any sporting goods store within 150 miles until I found one. This was back when they first came out back in February. Luckily I was looking for a 5:5 ratio which apparently is the least desirable. If you can find one just cancel the TW order. Quote
ClackerBuzz Posted June 9, 2014 Posted June 9, 2014 90% of the time it's on time. i rarely receive things late. and often receive them ahead of schedule. why are you anxious to fish or something? Quote
HeavyFisher Posted June 9, 2014 Posted June 9, 2014 I love *** and buy from them almost exclusively. A few months ago some items I ordered were on back order with about a 2 week wait. I didn't bother checking up on the items until just a few weeks ago and actually had to call customer service. Turns out they had everything is stock but forgot about my orders.....lol. So if you guys order back ordered products I would definitely call and check if they miss the predetermined stock date. Quote
Big Fish Rice Posted June 9, 2014 Posted June 9, 2014 Those dates are estimated dates from the manufacturer, so generally speaking, your reel could arrive sooner. The great thing about that retailer is that they pay very close attention to their website details, so if anything changes, they will change the date on the site or update you by email. If you have any questions, they're more than willing to help over the phone too, which I what I prefer to do. Super User Choporoz Posted June 9, 2014 Super User Posted June 9, 2014 It's always a surprise when I get a box from TW. Could be something I ordered last week....or maybe something I ordered months ago and completely forgot about. Quote
RF813 Posted June 9, 2014 Posted June 9, 2014 A bunch of lures were backordered. They shipped on the estimated arrival date. They were upfront and it was not a hassle. A good experience overall. Quote
Super User *Hootie Posted June 9, 2014 Super User Posted June 9, 2014 Yes im talking about the curado I left handed which is on backorder till july 11th. Right seems to be in stock but sadly im left handed lol American Legacy Fishing has them ready to ship. Great company to deal with. Hootie Quote
Fish Whacker Posted June 9, 2014 Posted June 9, 2014 I have ordered 15-20 times from them. I would say 4 orders included items on back-order. They do ship the other items on time (separately). However, the back-order items have never come before the estimated date always After. Also, if I pay for faster shipping, they do not honor it on the back-order items when they finally do come in. I like the selection at TW, but my honest opinion is that "whoever is responsible for the estimated dated" (TW or Manufacturer), it is an "optimistic date" and, in the meantime, they have your money tied-up. Kevin22 Posted June 15, 2014 Posted June 15, 2014 Mine wasn't a reel, but some other items. They waited to ship all of my backordered items at once, instead of 3-4 shipments (okay with me), so each time one of the items came back in stock I got an email from TW staying the item was being held and will ship with my other backordered items. I'm sure if I would have called and asked they would have shipped the backordered items individually, that's just the type of company they are. I think just about every item came back in stock before the estimated in-stock date. Quote
McAlpine Posted June 15, 2014 Posted June 15, 2014 I ordered some megabass 110's as part of a larger order in January. My order arrived right away minus the 110's. Which were really tough to find colors. Tough as in, basically go to japan to find these colors. I never even expected them to show up but about mid march, bam they arrived. Nobody else would have even gotten those in. Love TW! Quote
MDH713 Posted June 15, 2014 Posted June 15, 2014 I ordered some soft plastics that were on backorder a few weeks ago. I figured it would be 3 to 4 weeks until I would see them but to my surprise they were delivered the following week. Always been very happy with TW's shipping. Never had any problems. Quote
collards Posted June 16, 2014 Posted June 16, 2014 I have ordered many times from them. The customer service folks always let me know the status too. They will often wait till the whole b/o comes in, but if you make a new order, they will ship what materials have already come in with the order. I once waited several months for some items and they let me exchange items that were in stock. The total went over what I had paid and they comped me on it. TW is great. Quote
Jetty Posted September 15, 2024 Posted September 15, 2024 I just order whats in stock. Then what's on backorder I order those items for a second order, your card won't be charged till your items ship. Plus if you look at your backorder items in the same cart with in stock orders look at the estimated arrival date it's the date of the longest backorder. Some same they ship items that's in stock but on my order they waited till all items was in stock to ship. Held my new 200 dollar reel up for a month or so because I had a lure that cost 13.99 on backorder. Won't make that mistake again. Hope this helps someone. Quote
