A lot of people have said that the Ghost frays and breaks braid. Can anyone confirm this is true or false?

I broke a Ghost the other day.  Wont be buying anymore of those!

How long did you have it for?

I think it is the Soft metal inserts in the Ghost line guides. I have heard that those have pitted in the past and frayed braided line on other rods that had the same eye's. I do not think the Ghost line has been out long enough for us to see if this will be the case with them though.  I can't give you a straight answer because I am thinking no one knows 100% yet.

I ran braid on mine for a week or so.. Didn't notice any fraying but the noise of the braid running through the guides had me mad. So I switched to 12# mono, and like it just fine.

No complaints with my ghost. I have the 6'10" medium casting model that is my topwater rod. I spool it with 30lb power pro. Great set-up!
