I know there has been a few threads on this topic but I've just been wondering about a few things regarding storing soft plastics in plano boxes.  For example lets say I fish with Yum Dingers and GY Senkos, do you put each brand in its own plano box with assorted colors or do you go half and half in one box?  Lets say I fish with 3 different brands of stick baits do you put each brand in its own box?  Same thing with craws etc.  If that's the case that seems like it could get rather expensive buying all those plano boxes and also it seems like that would take up a lot of space.  Also I bank fish just as much as I fish from a boat is there a bank fishing friendly way of storing soft plastics this way?

For me, I leave everything in the original bags and throw those into a backpack. Those boxes cost too much

I have been using 1 gallon Ziplock bags and separating the plastics by type (stick baits in one bag, lizards in another, etc.)  I think it makes it easier for me to locate what I am looking for, and because I bank fish, I can quickly grab several bags and put them in my cargo pockets and be on my way.  I store all different brands together; doesn't seem to affect them.

Just keep any elaztech stuff out, and you should be able to mix and match anything else within the same box no prob. Z-Man elaztech plastics will turn into a puddle of goo if mixed with other brands.

I have no problems putting plastics from different manufacturers in the same box.

I have Academy's backpack and all my plastics in zip lock bags (inside the academys bags). It makes it really easy to move from place to place.. I keep craws with craws, lizards with lizards, etc, but I try to keep them with like colors. Awhile ago I had bought baby lizards, one pack of watermelon red and a pack of red. when I mixed those two together in a bag, the watermelon reds turned completely red. That happened to a few others as well.

Keep your plastics in the bag that you bought them in. It keeps your plastics fresh. Also, if you wanted to add some scent to your plastics. You have the bags to keep them in with the scent.

Let's say I make a GO-TO box with my favorite soft plastics that iI know work in my area or the lake I'm going too and let's say i put big worms in the top tray of zoom ol' monsters and Berkeley powerbait worms in different colors am i risking the colors bleeding together?

Bass Pro wallets with a livewell full of extra bags.  I usually keep them separated by what type of plastic.  Swimbaits and jerkbaits in one wallet, senko style and wacky worms in one, tailed worms and grubs in another, craws in another, lizards in another and then I have a misc one with creatures and plastic topwater baits...and last but not least, 1 for all my trailers.  I don't really use tubes so thats really the only thing I don't have for plastic baits.  I have too many plastic baits without them hehe. :)

binders work well for organizing plastics. Be careful throwing different colors together, they will bleed onto eachother

I have gone to having three of the large H2O worm bags from Academy, and one small Tournaments choice green bag.  I set up one of the large bags for Worms and Flukes, no more than 4 bags per compartment bag. Another for all the other Creatures and the third for a co-angler bag (all my favorites to fish in someone else's boat) and the small green bag for sticks and Senko. AND THATS ALL I ALLOW MYSELF TO HAVE.  I had to go through the mountain of soft plastics this winter and get rid of a bunch, was becoming way to much to deal with in my little ole 16 footer.  I keep everything in original packaging!

I keep all my power bait stuff in its original packages.  It seems like it has its own "flavor".  Other than that i put everything else in a Plano boxes.  I put them by styles Beavers, senkos, craws, creatures, etc.  I have a special box that is used the most.  It is my Green Pumpkin box.  It has all the different styles but all in that color.  I have one other exception.  I use Jackell flick shake worms for shakey heads.  They all go in a wallet style bag.  I had some melt in a box once.  The power bait bags also go in a wallet style bag.  It seems to work for me.  I never seem to run out, even if a bait is really hot on a given day.  Most Plano boxes will hold two or three packs of each style in one compartment.  I am alil OCD so I have to have things seperated and neatly put away......

In their bags and those bags into Plano 3700 series boxes, then, for each row I stick a label on the lid so that way I know what´s in each row, each row ( without dividers ) can hold up to 4 bags of baits depending upon how thick and how many baits the bag contains.

Also, you can purchase a spinnerbait binder, normally those come with 4 pages, each page has 2 zippered compartments, each compartment can hold 4 bags, you can purchase pages if you want to.

This leaves you too unorganized when u see a bass and are looking for a certain soft plastic it takes a while to find that bait compared to opening your labeled box and knowing where that bait is

I have a six pack soft side cooler that I use keeping them in their original bags. When bank fishing I just grab the ones I want and throw the bags in my cargo pocket or the pouch under the stool I carry sometimes. About to the point where I need a second one.

Lets say you fish 3 different brands of craws, do you have a box for each brand or do you mix brands into one box or have you narrowed down to one brand that you prefer over others?

I store them in Plano or Flambeau boxes by type of bait. Craws, stick worms, flukes, beavers, ect

Brand doesn't matter. Just the style of bait. Though I do have a brand that I buy all the time for certain things like craws. It's really easy to find what I need when I'm out on the water. Now if I'm fishing the bank I have 1 box and keep dang near every type of plastic I could need in one day in there. As you can see I have 12 different types of plastics in 1 box. If I get low on something,I can see it right away and refill that bait later on.

I use the Academy Magnum Worm binder and put my plastics in zip lock snack bags. 6 1/2x3 1/4 I put about 4 plastics in each bag and put the in separate holders in the binder. So I have one holder in the binder labeled watermelon senkos. I have a sandwich bag with watermelon candy, one with watermelon red black, and one with watermelon red green. Next holder is pumpkin senkos. Next holder is baby brush hogs, etc.

Do leave the baits in the package or take them out

that's what I do too,I won't take them out of the bag for fear they may pickup a scent the fish won't like

It does not matter to me.

Do leave the baits in the package or take them out

I take them out and only put 3-4 ( but all the same) in a snack bag to take up less room. For instance, I put 4 watermelon red black senkos in one bag. Then I put 4 green pumpkin senkos in one bag. Then I put 4 watermelon magic baby brush hogs in one bag. That way you can put 3-4 snack bags in one plastic sleeve of the Magnum Worm Binder.
