I've owned a pair of Oakley Hijinx with shallow blue lense and a pair of Costa Blackfins with green mirror 580 glass and like the Costas much better. The lenses are better, the frame is built better and fits much nicer, they have superior customer service and are an all around better product than the Oakleys. I still own a couple pair of Oakleys and love them but for fishing, Costa is they way to go.

I wear prescription glasses and sun glasses and I use Oakley frames and Oakley lenses. But they are pricey but I wouldn't wear or use anything else.

I have a pair of Wiley X Jakes smoke and Costa Fisch with the 580 green lenses.  I like them both.  For low light conditions I wear the Jakes but the Costa's are by far the best in bright conditions.

I haven't had a pair of Oakleys in decades so I don't have a comparison.

I have had quite a few pair of Oakleys. Most of them had problems after a few years with the hinges.

I've owned a few Oakleys and love them. Never had Costas so I don't have firsthand experience, but I saw a poll recently and the Costas got the best reviews by far. Most said to be sure to get the polarized 580 lenses in amber. When I'm ready to drop another $200 on glasses they will be my choice. Let us know your results!

Have 6 pairs of quality sunglasses that I haven't worn in 2 years. Why? Because I bought my first pair of costas 2 years ago!

I have worn Oakleys and Costas.  I have two pairs of Costas in my rotation, both 580G, one in green and one and blue.

I wear the Green in lower light situations than the blue.  I prefer the blue in days where there are no clouds and the sun is intense.  Both are really close in terms of performance of seeing whats going on under the surface.

This is what I'm gonna do.. I have 3 pair of Oakley for just sunglasses one pair is polarized and one is prescription. The others are what wear golfing. But i agree I think for fishing the Costa is a better choice. Gonna get 580 green lense this go around already have the 580 blue. And like them why change brands.

How's it fit on your face?  As far a lens quality I would go with Costa, Ocean Waves, or Maui Jim.

I personally like Oakleys. I get them all polarized. I've worn Oakleys my whole life. My friend has Costas and tried them on. I just didn't like the fit on me. I have Oakley Holbrook, Big Taco, Oil Rigs. Had others but sold them.

I've worn Oakley's for the last 20 years and have been completely happy with them.  I've never owned a pair of Costa's but would definitely consider it.

I own and wear both...ive been wearing oakleys for 20 years everywhere but on the water...i prefer the costa 580g amber/green on the water...especially fresh water. In the salt i wear blue/gray offshore and a green amber inshore

Just had the same situation recently, was debating on Costa and another pair of Oakleys and decided on Costas. Should of switched to Costas much earlier, amazing glasses!!!

Not even a comparison in my mind.  I have worn/owned sunglasses from oakley, smith, mountain shades, optic nerve, maui jim and costa.  I used to work in an outdoor store so could get them real cheap.  Anyways, i bought a pair of costas on a trip to the shore where i forgot i had my smiths on and went into the surf and wiped out and lost them.  Paid full pop for them and wouldn't hesitate to do it again.  they are top notch lenses and the quality is very good.  I am actually looking to get another pair because my son pulled them off the shelf and they landed straight on the lens from about 5 feet and cracked.  They still work and i wear them but it is not a warranty issue and i will replace them this summer most likely.

Costa will still repair the lenses, but they will charge you.  I think a replacement set for mine that I cracked was $89.  Well worth it, IMO.

I've had several pairs of both, Costa blows Oakley out of the water for fishing. Oakleys are way too small for my fat head too  :laugh5:

Lots of great opinions. Hopefully this will help someone else out in the choice they make. I have decided to buy another pair of Costa and get green lenses this time. I like Companys don't have a bad thing to say about either.. Just feel that the Costa lenses are better for fishing.. Now if I'm buying a pair of sunglasses to wear everyday I'm going Oakley for sure.. I think Oakley hands down takes the cake for style.. Costa I am not real fond of any style they offer. But they are great for fishing..

Ive got the Strike King s11 for about 40$, I had 200$ oakley before and would'nt go back! Very impressive performance on the Strike King's!

One improvement that every brand of sunglasses should make is let the UV's go trough the jacket of the sunglasses so we dont all look like racoons after the weekend lol
