PersicoTrotaVA Posted June 4, 2014 Posted June 4, 2014 Hello everyone, I just recently ordered a few Daiwa T Rods from TW. I haven't really used any of their stuff before and was turned off a few years back when a friend bought a daiwa rod and reel combo and the reel started to squeak the first time out and started grinding by the end of the day. Anyway I ordered a few Daiwa T Rods as back ups to my usual St Croix rods because the price was just too good. What are your experiences with Daiwa rods and reels? Good or bad and everything in between, I would like to hear it all. Thanks and keep tight lines everyone! Quote
Ima Bass Ninja Posted June 4, 2014 Posted June 4, 2014 I used the daiwa Tierra rods which general consensus seems to be that they are the older version of the daiwa T rods. I really liked them and still have one that I use. I also have 2 daiwa ballistic rods that are a little on the heavy side but great rods. Especially since I bought them for $50 on sale at TW. As far as reels daiwa is all I use. Mostly t3 ballistic ( 6 + 1 JDM t3 mx) advantage (2) viento (2) a alphas finesse (1) and an exceller (1) love every single one of them. Sold all my pq's and Pflueger and abu revo reels to switch over. 1 Quote
Super User Montanaro Posted June 4, 2014 Super User Posted June 4, 2014 There is a short thread on these rods just one or two pages back, check it out 2 Quote
Super User Choporoz Posted June 4, 2014 Super User Posted June 4, 2014 Funny, PT. Similar story here. Many years ago I bought a cheap Daiwa spinning combo. Broke the rod tip first time out. Took it back to the store the same day and never looked at another Daiwa again. But after reading about the 'T's on here, I bought one from TW and should have it in hand later today. Quote
doyle8218 Posted June 4, 2014 Posted June 4, 2014 I have a Tatula 6'10" MH-F and I LOVE it. Well made with attention to fine details. Quote

Mr Swim Jig Posted June 4, 2014 Posted June 4, 2014 The Tatula rods are my first experience with Daiwa rods and I am very impressed with them! Quote
Super User Chris at Tech Posted June 4, 2014 Super User Posted June 4, 2014 To me, I don't understand why the Zillion rods don't get more love especially for "feel" techniques. I LOVE my 7'MH 1 Quote
PersicoTrotaVA Posted June 4, 2014 Author Posted June 4, 2014 Thanks a lot guys! Just opened the package and so far I am impressed. Love the blue, its hard to find a blue rod these days. Gonna get these new Lew's reels loaded up with line and take them out tonight for a few casts and see how they do. Thanks again for the feedback, I want to make sure my money is well spent. Quote
