Super User Jrob78 Posted June 5, 2014 Super User Posted June 5, 2014 Nike Air Max 360 running shoes on a boat and Columbia Power Drains on the kayak. I need the support and agility I get from sneakers that I don't get from Crocs and I don't wear sandals. Fishing barefoot seams like a recipe for disaster. Quote
livetofish28 Posted June 5, 2014 Posted June 5, 2014 I really like my Adidas foam sandals they are extremely comfortable and i either wear those or a pair of sneakers tight lines Andrew Quote
Super User Jeff H Posted June 5, 2014 Super User Posted June 5, 2014 Do a search for Keen Newport H2 sandals. I've been wearing them in warm weather for the past 9 years have no complaints. Same for me! Or, Keen vented low hikers, which I wear at work every day too. Love 'em because my feet hurt a lot less in Keen! Quote
Basseditor Posted June 5, 2014 Posted June 5, 2014 I too like Keens. I wear them to work as well. (Casual dress workplace.) Quote
Nice_Bass Posted June 5, 2014 Posted June 5, 2014 Flip flops by reef. Mine have support, air pockets, and built in bottle opener. Quote
Super User Teal Posted June 5, 2014 Super User Posted June 5, 2014 Can you wear crocs in cold weather? Who would want to ? In cold weather, I wear my work boots. Quote
Super User Fishes in trees Posted June 5, 2014 Super User Posted June 5, 2014 I have a pair of walking shoes I got from BPS that I like OK. I used to wear Aqua Socks, but found I needed more arch support. Quote
Super User Dwight Hottle Posted June 5, 2014 Super User Posted June 5, 2014 Crocs are the way to go for fishing. They're comfortable, lightweight, dry quickly, and your feet get plenty of air. They're about unbreakable too. I stand all day when I'm fishing too, don't even use a butt seat, and I'm usually feeling pretty good still by the end of the day. X2 Quote
Blake2737 Posted June 7, 2014 Posted June 7, 2014 I love chaco sandals on the bass boat. In the kayak I go barefoot. Quote
pbizzle Posted June 7, 2014 Posted June 7, 2014 Sanuks all day every day! Everyone knows about those slipper looking things that Crocs makes, well Sanuk is the original. I've had mine about two years no and they're still going strong... well besides for a pretty funky odor. I mean these things STINK. They're super comfortable though. The sole is made of the same stuff that yoga mats and beer koozies are made of. They're marketed towards the beach/hippy crowd, but lately I've seen a bunch of pros on TV wearing them, including Casey Martin and Larry Nixon. I've also seen them in Bass Pro and Sportsmans Warehouse. http://www.sanuk.com/on/demandware.store/Sites-SANUK-US-Site/default/Default-Start?source=ggl_ppc&bcd=sVB0t7wNn&pcrid=41378638137&pkw=sanuk&pmt=e&pdv=t&gclid=CjgKEAjwzcWcBRCat43fy9e5i3ASJADXOBwuMQi6RXo8y-xuGS08pDaRXXbGQOVojvfj-3OpoE2fX_D_BwE 1 Quote
martintheduck Posted June 7, 2014 Posted June 7, 2014 Depends ---- "for fun" days I'll go barefoot or sandals. But for practice or tournys ---- Hooks going about, lures on the boat deck, finny fish flopping, jumping around up and down from deck to deck landing hogs, standing for long periods....I'm not trying to get hurt. I almost broke my ankle jumping down from the front deck 2 months ago, am still aching, and I was wearing athletic shoes. If i had sandals I would have broke my freaking leg I bet! I'm wearing running shoes all the time. I've been stuck on Nike Frees for the moment and Nike Shox. Quote
Phoenix Guy Posted June 7, 2014 Posted June 7, 2014 If its over 60degrees, im usually barefoot. Cooler than that, my trusty New Balance shoes. Quote
Chris186 Posted June 8, 2014 Posted June 8, 2014 Same for me! Or, Keen vented low hikers, which I wear at work every day too. Love 'em because my feet hurt a lot less in Keen! I just got a pair of Keen hikers because I wanted more support for standing all day fishing. They are one of the most comfortable shoes I have ever worn. Quote
STPC Posted June 8, 2014 Posted June 8, 2014 Keen siskiyous (waterproof) if its chilly, Merrell Moab low vent (possibly the most comfortable shoe I have ever worn; they never show any dirt, the Vibram soles have lasted for over 3 years, they weight next to nothing and breathe very well). If I'm just fishing w/the kids I will wear a pair of Sanuk flip flops w/the coozie soles. 1 Quote
STPC Posted June 8, 2014 Posted June 8, 2014 Oh yeah, Keen shoes are not for those w/skinny feet (I have to wear two pairs of socks). Quote
jignfule Posted June 8, 2014 Posted June 8, 2014 I'm standing constantly when I fish. Keens, Merrels, crocs don't come close to comforting my feet for 8-10 hours. I try standing on anti-fatique mats, my feet still ache. I just bought a 2" nitrile mat. I will let you know how it works. Quote
Super User Darren. Posted June 8, 2014 Super User Posted June 8, 2014 I like fishing from crocs, Shimano-brand crocs, flip flop crocs, and five-finger (toe) shoes. I stand in the pontoons of my kayak, so there's a little bit of an odd (not flat) surface there. The toe shoes probably handle it the best, plus they're super comfy. Quote
Super User Darren. Posted June 8, 2014 Super User Posted June 8, 2014 Who would want to ? In cold weather, I wear my work boots. Define cold I have lace-up crocks, with a larger croc bottom half that wraps up around the foot to the leather upper. I use these for cold weather kayak fishing. Worn with socks, they're excellent. Mr_Scrogg Posted June 8, 2014 Posted June 8, 2014 Pair of Rubber Under Armour slide on sandels. Or Columbia Drainmaker water shoes. Quote
pbizzle Posted June 9, 2014 Posted June 9, 2014 Keen siskiyous (waterproof) if its chilly, Merrell Moab low vent (possibly the most comfortable shoe I have ever worn; they never show any dirt, the Vibram soles have lasted for over 3 years, they weight next to nothing and breathe very well). If I'm just fishing w/the kids I will wear a pair of Sanuk flip flops w/the coozie soles. Probably the most comfortable shoes on Earth. Quote
