What's The Best Footwear For Fishing In Your Boat All Day?

This maybe a funny question but after a long day of fishing my feet really hurt. I've always had problems with them though and being up on my feet at work all day doesn't help. I normally wear a T-shirt, swim trunks, and flip flops. Apparently flip flops are one of the worst things you can wear because they offer no support. I would like to find something like flip flops that work, I was thinking Crocs or some type of orthopedic flip flops. Does anyone make such a thing?

I can't find the thread but there was a good one on this topic in the everything else section of this forum. For me I wear crocs but not the normal sandal ones. These are a slip on type that resemble a slipper. They are called the Santa Cruz. Very lightweight and dry super fast plus have the crocs foam as an insert that can be removed for cleaning or whatnot. Zeko also has a boat shoe that is pretty nice from what I've heard.

I wear kayak shoes.  They are lightweight, comfortable, provide great grip on wet or dry surfaces, and they dry quickly if you get them wet.  The brand I use are Teva, but most kayak shoe brands seem like they would do the job.  They look like sneakers, so you can wear them anywhere.

Chaco makes good, supportive sandals. I haven't tried their flip flops, but I have a pair of their Yampa sandals which are basically a sandal with a boot sole, and they are very comfortable for being on your feet all day. I usually wear those or my vibram fivefingers fishing. I personally love the fivefingers as well, but I wouldn't necessarily recommend them if you're looking for something with lots of support, as they're a minimalist, barefoot-style shoe.

None.  I love to fish barefoot.  I will wear flip flops this time of year but once I am out on the water, those come off and get tossed in a corner.  If I have to wear shoes(its cold) I prefer and old pair of vans or anything with a thin sole.  I'm going to try out my new crocs and see if those work half way decent.  I don't like wearing anything heavy like boots, basketball shoes, running shoes or anything with a thick hard sole.

Shimano has a pair of sandals very similiar in style to Crocs but they have a sole designed for wet surfaces. They are comfortable enough to wear all day and provide good traction on docks and boat ramps.

 

After falling more than once last year while wearing an old pair of Crocs i stumbled across the Shimano brand. I've noticed two downsides to the Shimano sandals, they look just as tacky/ugly as Crocs and mine are starting to rip. You can get the Shimano sandals at TW just make sure to buy a size smaller than your normal tennis shoe.

I wear sandals made by Merrell. I love them. Great support and they are water proof. Water proof sounds dumb with sandals but a lot of time when I fish by myself I end up crawling out the front of the boat when loading and stepping into the water to go to the truck. My feet are dry in minutes. I don't jump from the boat to the dock anymore. Not cheep but a great sandal.

Crocs are the way to go for fishing. They're comfortable, lightweight, dry quickly, and your feet get plenty of air. They're about unbreakable too. I stand all day when I'm fishing too, don't even use a butt seat, and I'm usually feeling pretty good still by the end of the day.

Teva Terra Fl4 sandals for me. Great support and worth every penny.Had same pair for several years and lots of use.

I fish on a fiberglass deck it's wet quite a bit.  I need a shoe that grips well with good arch support as many of our fish will take you 360 around the boat a few times.  I wear a lace up boat shoe sneaker style, Teva has been my choice.

I've fished on several different boats with different footwear, from aluminum boats with no carpet to fiberglass skiffs with no carpet to my carpeted bass boat and I've worn probably EVERYTHING, from work boots, flip flops, barefooted, tennis shoes etc...

The best all around footwear I've found on a boat is a pair of crocs or comfortable tennis shoes.

Dawg Spirits, are my current shoe. Like crocs but are built with more sole coosh. Great for standing all day. Not an everyday walking shoe but great on the boat.

 

Spenco Yumi's are the best flip flops out there. Will last multiple seasons. I no longer wear flips while fishing due to fear of skin cancer, but prefer these flip flops over any other footwear.

I usually just go with a good quality pair of Nike cross training shoes or running shoes. Otherwise, I wear a good pair of athletic flip flops that have the foam injected soles. Either is comfortable, supportive, and prevents me from looking like I decided to throw on an ugly pair of slippers in the morning and forgot to take them off.

I wear Zeko Shoes while fishing. Lightweight and comfortable. Made to drain water if you get feet wet. I recommend them.

I wear Nike running shoes with heel support. It has helped me 8 hours of practice days and tournament days. Cant complain with it. Or I'll wear Reef Fanning thong sandal. Cool thing about the Reefs, it has air cushion on the heel. That helps!

Yup..............It's either regular crocs, croc flip flops, or my work boots, I have not worn sneakers fishing in 20 years probably.
