boostr Posted June 3, 2014 Posted June 3, 2014 6'6" M/F 7' MH/F What baits for the M/F, and what baits for the MH/F? I have a H/F I will be using for froggin, 1oz to 2oz swimbaits, and flipping. Thanks Quote
Super User aavery2 Posted June 3, 2014 Super User Posted June 3, 2014 a 7' MH/F rod is a jack of all trades, it can do just about anything well, with the exception of very light baits, and very deep crankbaits. Use the 6'6" M/F for slightly lighter baits and when you need more casting accuracy like throwing to docks and brush piles, things of that nature. Both are very versatile rods and there is almost nothing out of the question with the 3 rods you listed. 1 Quote

boostr Posted June 3, 2014 Author Posted June 3, 2014 So I was thinking on the 6'6" M/F- Senko types t-rigged weightless or whacky weightless, small and super flukes weightless small to medium square bills and shallow CBs. On the 7' M/H- 1/4 oz to 1/2 oz spinner baits and chatter baits, same with swim jigs and regular jigs plus 3/8th sizes. Seen people say c-rigs, and weighed t-rigs, and lipless cranks like the Rat L Traps. What do you guys think? Is there anything I should change around. Quote
Super User aavery2 Posted June 3, 2014 Super User Posted June 3, 2014 Without knowing the specifics of the rod brands it is difficult at best to say, there are no industry standards so rods vary greatly between brands. The good news is you have two or three versatile rods, and should be able to make adjustments to which rod a given bait will perform the best on, nothing beats testing and experience on the water. 1 Quote
boostr Posted June 4, 2014 Author Posted June 4, 2014 The 6'6" M/F is a Fenwick Eagle, and the 7' MH/F is a Cabelas Eagle 50 if that helps. Like you said though testing them out on the water is the only reel way to know what they like. Quote
