I know it really comes down to personal preference, but I'd like to hear what you guys like to throw on the spit shot! Thanks!

85 percent of the time I fish a soft plastic bait it's a 6-7 inch straight tail worm, so 85 percent of the time I fish on a split shot rig you'll see a 6-7 inch straight tail worm.

The split shot rig has been around forever, Dick Trask brought it to tournament bass fishing.

Dick used small Flutter Craft* 5" curl tail worms with light wire worm hooks. Today I fish this rig modified using the mojo Jo style slip sinker with a glass bead as a stopper; the slip shot rig.

4" to 6" straight or curl tail Roboworms or Iovino worms are my main choice with reapers as the second choice.

* PM for a source for Flutter Craft worms.

WRB : What do you think of a "slip shot" rig comprised of a small 1/8oz ~ 1/4oz stainless steel egg sinker , bead and swivel used on 8lb. line spinning tackle ? More like a ultralight C- Rig ...how would you use or modify above ?

I like to use Water Gremlin Bull Shot weights for split shot rigs.

Use split shot with wacky trick worm and fluke. Get better casting and control of bait.

A big +1 on this. The Bull Shot won't kink or crimp fluro!

The advantage of a split shot or slip shot rig is 1 knot at the hook. The advantage of the slip shot rig is strike detection. There is a good transparent plastic swivel (Aquateck) available that would be interesting to try on a finesse C-rig, still needs 3 knots.
