onefinalcast Posted June 2, 2014 Posted June 2, 2014 Well as some of you know, I have been dedicating this year to learning how to fish with a jig, and finally late last week and into the weekend I finally caught my first jig bass! I ended up catching a few on both Siebert Outdoors and NorthStar Custom jigs. The largemouth was fairly decent and the smallmouth was my personal best for a smallie, and what a fitting fight it was! I had to work pretty hard for them, and at one point I was just about ready to give up and switch to a different lure, but I persisted. I didn't catch very many, but the ones I did were decent sized and I was pleasantly surprised! 3 Quote

MichaelE Posted June 5, 2014 Posted June 5, 2014 Congrats man! I am just starting to get into jig fishing myself. I really like to flip jigs into some Florida cover. But not that 5 inch thick stuff Quote
Super User everythingthatswims Posted June 6, 2014 Super User Posted June 6, 2014 I just pretend that the baby boo jigs, finesse jigs, and bitsy flips count as a jigs haha...Fishing with those is like fishing a texas rigged craw, you can still catch all the dinks Quote
Super User Bankbeater Posted June 6, 2014 Super User Posted June 6, 2014 Good going! Now it's time to get a bigger tackle bag. Quote
jignfule Posted June 8, 2014 Posted June 8, 2014 The more you fish it the more skill and confidence you gain. Congrats Quote
