alright... been fishing both in a boat, and wading for 2 months now... as often as I can, which is at least once or twice a week. mainly creeks, (large and small) but also a few lakes. the biggest thing I've caught is probably around 2lbs, and total all year, MAYBE 5 bass!! last year, in the creek i was fishing this weekend, I tore them up... caught several over 2 - 3lbs, and one close to 6 (massive for the creek i'm at).... using my boat I ran literally about 8 miles up a creek, fished all the way up and back, took about 7 or so hours, an caught two bass. one not worth talking about and 1 anout 2 lbs.  in either of the lakes (one was a wash - i took my daughter who, now I know, has a tremendous fear of bugs)  but the other we fished approximately 4 - 5 hours, and caugth NO bass, and only two small crappie (once we gave up on bass)

anyone else sucking as bad as I am this year?

been throwing everything, crankbaits, worms, spinner, topwaters... etc.  just no luck.

Yeah, you aren't alone, I'm gonna pull back and concentrate on jigs and drop shot

Sometimes when I hit a rut I'll bust out the ultralight and inline spinners.  They catch any fish out there and chances are you'll have a good day catching some decent bass.  We put a lot of pressure on ourselves to catch these little green fish on the "latest" lure or technique.  Just take a deep breath and remember why you fish.  Good luck!

If you're looking for some suggestions, how about a brief description of what you're finding -- water color, water T, water level, cover/structure, etc?

Sometimes they just aren't biting at all.  Went yesterday afternoon / evening to my favorite spot 100 yards from my house.  I could see 2 nice peacock bass (18" to 20") swimming around within 10' of the bank. 2 tilapias just holding about 4' off the bank.  Could not get any bites.  Went home and got out the Zebco 33, some meal worms and butter worms.  Went right back.  Dangled both meal and butter worms in the tilapias faces and NOTHING!  I even ran a meal worm down the side of a tilapia rubbing it from tail to head and NOTHING! Didn't bite and didn't even move!  Just held in the same position.

I fish in central Texas on the Guadalupe River. First part of Spring seemed to be gangbusters. Now I'm in the same boat no pun intended. The suggestion above of posting the conditions is great. I'm a bank fisherman (because I can't afford a boat). That means that water Temp is really hard to determine.

We've just received some heavy rain. Now I can't buy a fish. Insert sad face. I take advice from a lot of sources. I will change my game completely from top water to drop shot. Still not having any luck. I even went fishing in the middle of the night.

All rambling aside.

I feel your pain.

I went yesterday and thought it was going to be a killer day cause within 15 minutes I had two 3lbers! after that I spent the next 5 hrs not catching a dam thing haha. What I do in times like that is try random things or lures I bought and never tried or haven't tried in a long time. I even come up with and make some of my own creations and try it out. just simply try and make the trip the best I can.

Water types and clarity has varied.... Most recently a small creek, water clarity was decent, maybe 3 ft. No way to know temp, but guessing at mid 60's. Some rock, intermittent wood. Gravel bottom, occasionally mud/silt tho few and far between where I am at.

Tried the ultra lights with inline spinners as well..... Caught 2 bluegill..

Been hot here for his time of year.... 80's to 90's. Chance of rain everyday, tho more often then not nothing comes of it. Creek Is a little up right now.
