Shimano

Lews

Take your pick...so many good rods in the low 100 price range

St. Croix Mojo Bass/priemer series, Lew's American hero is nice for $70, Fenwick HMX, Abu Veritas. All rods that I own and like without having to break the bank. Some people will say they have issues with certain rods breaking, but when you are only spend $70 or so dollars on a rod it isn't nearly as heartbreaking. Hope this helps.

I agree when I see guys going and spending $500 or more on a rod it is sad and if I had one it would never be fished with

I'm pretty cheap with rods myself because I don't want to get totally hung out to dry if my dumb self manages to break it just putting it in the truck or something, but I'm a huge fan of Falcon, I think I'm going to start spending a little more for their rods every time. They are made in the USA and they are super lightweight and strong and sensitive, check out the buccoo series!

I would like to add the St. Croix rage to the list. I currently have a spinning and am looking to get a casting rod soon. It has amazing sensitivity and have the perfect weight to not seem too flimsy. It can also take a beating. Also St. Croix has a great warranty. Don't be discouraged by the bad reviews, I have had mine for over a year and have fought a couple huge gar, catfish, and a few bass over 4 pounds and the rod is great with everything. It has a sensitive tip yet can still have an amazing hook set.

Denali makes a very nice fishing rod also and who could leave out Duckett Fishing.

If you shop online you can get powell endurances for 150  and I would higly recomend doing these are some of the best rods i have used. They are incredibley sensitive rods, vey strong, and have fantastic warranties if something ever does go wrong, and they are absolutley gorgeous rod imo. I love them so much that im replacing my ducketts and even a couple St Croix LTB with them.
