Great little swimbait where bluegill are present. Gills are starting to bed up here now and that means I'll be throwing it around the "minefields". Had great luck last year when the wind stirred up the water around the Gill beds. Bass were alot less spooky and eager to bite. Any new colors due like Baby Bass Big-O? That would be killer.

I like em but like koofy smacker said, not very durable. I've been doing real well at the local pond with them

I am planning on rage rigging mine.

You may want to review these rigging illustrations. I only use it 3 basic ways. On a 4 to 5/0 flipping hook flat with the weight pegged for flipping. Also as a swim bait on the 6/0 Moaner hook and trimmed lower fins for clearance of the hook and weight on the belly of the bait. And as a jig trailer both flat and upright for the different profiles They're soft so that the fish will maul it in their mouth and bait will roll up easily on the hook set. The Shellcracker is effective on its own Rage Rigged, but I like it best

I will add Jika Rig to the list, worked very well for me with a 1/4 oz weight and 4/0 Trokar EWG hook this spring .

Its a great bait.  If you want to extend the life of the bait use a hook with a coil keeper.  For me this drastically improves the life of the bait and other soft baits in stead of using a offset shank worm hook.

Caught I nice 6 lber on a shellcracker rigged to a heavy bluegill swim jig.  Not the most durable but it has great action in its tail.  Sometimes when I was bringing the bait back to the boat for another cast I thought a fish was swimming up to the boat.  The tail on the shellcracker looks very real when moving.
