Grant Schuen Posted May 31, 2014 Posted May 31, 2014 anyone know anything about the stoeger condor or uplander i am considering purchasing one of the two. Quote
Crappiebasser Posted May 31, 2014 Posted May 31, 2014 I have a Condor but IMO my CZ Upland is a much better shooter. The condor doesn't balance well for me. Quote
crazyjoeclemens Posted June 12, 2014 Posted June 12, 2014 I bought a condor some time ago. Its light and points well, but the quality isn't there. After a few hundred rounds, one of the barrel bands came off the side. If I could do it again, I'd save up for a Ruger Red Label. They're expensive, but I've learned that quality is worth paying for. Super User Jeff H Posted June 27, 2014 Super User Posted June 27, 2014 I bought a 16 ga Uplander years ago. I think it's a little better gun than it looks. Finish quality looks a little rough but it locks up tight and has stayed that way. You do need to tear it apart and clean out the packing grease for consistent performance. I had some inconsistent light primer strikes in my left barrel at first and cleaning seems to have solved that. But the gun points and shoots very good to point of aim. I like the gun but it is not my favorite grouse gun to carry. I have seen some of the Uplanders come with some incredibly surprising nice wood too. It is not the worst gun I've had and for now I can render it as dependable at least. Quote
Super User Dan: Posted June 28, 2014 Super User Posted June 28, 2014 In my previous position I sold lots of both. I wouldn't buy either unless I got a dynamite deal. We sent more of them back than any other gun that we carried... Quote
Super User Jeff H Posted June 28, 2014 Super User Posted June 28, 2014 In my previous position I sold lots of both. I wouldn't buy either unless I got a dynamite deal. I did! Only paid $300 BNIB for my Uplander 16. Quote
Super User Crestliner2008 Posted July 15, 2014 Super User Posted July 15, 2014 I have a Stoeger Uplander Supreme 12 ga. side-by-side that I've had for about 8 seasons now. It's got 26" tubes and I use it mainly for partridge and/or woodcock. Nice handling shotgun. The only problem with mine is that the first barrel occasionally miss-fires. Maybe one or two rounds per box at the skeet range. I've contacted a gunny to give it a look-see. Other than that, I like it a lot. Quote
