7'3 hvy Powell inferno w/ a 7:4.1 lews speed spool and 65lb spider wire braid. Then you'll be cooking. Lews reels are much better made than abu's. Really just get a rod that feels right. I woundnt spend more than 150$ on my first rod and no more than 150$ for the reel as well. But don't buy an Abu, for a lews and make sire it's a high gear ratio. Best of luck

Cabelas sells a Cabelas Tournament ZX rod and Daiwa Tatula reel combo for $199.99

I'm sure it has been and will go on sale again.

I have G. Loomis, St. Croix Rage and Mojo Bass and my Cabelas Tournament ZX are my favorite rods.

I looked it up and I was looking more for the tatula type r (the one in 8.1:1) the normal one doesn't have that gear ratio

Does anybody know why the guides on the LT frog rod are backwards (like a spinning rod)? What do you think about it? Does it make it better or worse? What was the point of that?

Walleye on a frog rod? Yea right... I'll stick to my 66ml and 66m spinning rods.

I posted about that reel after learning more about it. Do you think it would be better than the Sx for frogging?

i have a Gen 3 SX the gear box is huge i would go with lews or daiwa.
