I have not used the shrink tubing yet for wacky worming. But I know you can get a small package of different  sizes at Home  Depot or a good hardware store to try for your self.

Senkos 3/8"

Finesse and Trick worms 1/4"

Hook shanks 1/16" or 1/8" don't remember

Trailer hook eyes 3/16"

Get an assortment pack from Radio Shack so you can see all the sizes.

Use one of those igniters you use to light a bar-b-q.

But two or three and carry one with you so you can rig up the shrink tubing as necessary.

I take six or seven Senkos or plastic worms at one time and shrink the tubing on them.

Place the tubing where you want it on the plastic, hold the tail on a table with the remaining plastic and tubing straight out from the table and using the ignitor heat up the tubing.

Place hot plastic on table, not a cloth, to cool.

Put plastics back in their bag and you are ready to roll.  ;)

I meant to say, " place the tail of the worm on a table nad hold the head of the worm in your hand and heat the tubing with the igniter.

Sorry, but it is early and my grand dog got me up at 5AM to go outside.  ;)

I'm out of the loop on this one...

I've heard about applying the shrink wrap to the hook shank to act as a barb to keep the plastic in place, but I don't recall hearing about applying it directly to the bait.

What's the concept on that one?

It's like using it as an o-ring. You can just skin hook the heat shrink. A wacky rigged Senko will last A LOT longer.

I don't need to heat the tubing when used on the plastic baits.

For the hooks, I use the barbeque lighters.

I use the tubing to attach a stainless steel weedguard to Octopus hooks for wacky Senkos
