I'm use to fishing moving baits...but this pond that I plan on going to is packed with lily pads and weeds..,.so. I lnow punching flipping and top water is going to be key. I'm wondering how to fish the frog...or how YOU guys fish the frog.

Thanks

Mix up your retrieve and let the fish tell you how they want it. Give it a straight retrieve back, walk it, pop it and let it pause. Try everything and see what (if anything) works.

This. I also recommend fishing with braid. I use 50 or 65 lb. Its not that I need that strong of line, its just the line diameter I prefer.

If your throwing in pads I would go with at least 50lb braid. Are you on the bank or on a boat? If your on the bank I would look for pockets in the pads and walk, or work the frog the way you know best until you reach the bank. I would also try to work the frog parallel to the pad field depending on how wide it is. Make sure you have at least a MH, preferably H. When the bass strikes set the hook hard and keep the rod up until you get the fish out of the pads. Once the fish is out of the pads play the fish accordingly. If your in a boat, the approach may be a little different.
