Super User Jrob78 Posted May 24, 2014 Super User Posted May 24, 2014 I like Sufix braid, both the Performance Braid and the 832. 1 Quote
skeletor6 Posted May 24, 2014 Posted May 24, 2014 I've had good luck with Daiwa Samurai and Suffix 832. Quote
JWOA Posted May 24, 2014 Author Posted May 24, 2014 Power pro vs 832 I've never used 832 but pp I have but I'm wanting to try something new Quote
martintheduck Posted May 24, 2014 Posted May 24, 2014 Well if you want to try something new...the 832 then... you won't be disappointed. I use 832 on all my saltwater gear but PP on my fresh gear - just a weird personal preference. Quote
BassResource.com Administrator Glenn Posted May 24, 2014 BassResource.com Administrator Posted May 24, 2014 I've been using the Seaguar Smackdown braid this year, and I have to tell you I'm really impressed. Definitely worth a look. http://seaguar.com/freshwater/braid.html Also, Tuf-Line just introduced a new 8-strand braid this month called Tournament 8. I've only used it a few times so far, but I'm really pleased with it. It casts really smooth. http://tuf-line.com/products_TUF-Lines_26.html Quote

Big Swimbait Posted May 25, 2014 Posted May 25, 2014 On Academy's web site, 832 is on sale for $15.00 thru Monday. Quote
Super User SirSnookalot Posted May 25, 2014 Super User Posted May 25, 2014 I mostly use Power Pro, I can buy it any where any time or the day, the price isn't bad either. I've used other brands and have never seen a reason to swear off PP. I use 10-15 and 20#, I whack out larger saltwater fish all the time. PP casts just fine, strength is of no concern (should't be for any braided line), knots are good, what's the problem? Quote

I'm slowly coming to this exact conclusion and therefore feel that I'm going to settle on it as my braid of choice for the foreseeable future. I really like P-Line Spectrex braid as well but I can't buy it locally so when the two spools I have run out I'll just replace it with PP. Quote
Capt.Bob Posted May 25, 2014 Posted May 25, 2014 Sufix 832, or,,,,,,,,,,a,,,,,,,,,,,well I guess thats it, 8 3 2 Quote

I don't know why basspro sells it in 100 yd spools rather than the 150 yd they sell readily available at Walmart for the same price. I just bought a 150 yd spool of $9.96 US Braid from Walmart. Its orange and made in 'merica. Ill see how it holds up. I see up to 50lbs on sale. Quote
livetofish28 Posted May 25, 2014 Posted May 25, 2014 Power Pro or Sunline FX2 or SX1 tight lines Andrew Quote
martintheduck Posted May 28, 2014 Posted May 28, 2014 Is there a bad braid? Cheaper spiderwire. That crap has a tendency to crush back on into itself and cause me real headaches. Quote
Super User new2BC4bass Posted May 28, 2014 Super User Posted May 28, 2014 Kanzen 15# Cheaper spiderwire. That crap has a tendency to crush back on into itself and cause me real headaches. Thanks. I will be sure to avoid those two lines. Little too late for the Spiderwire, tho, as I have some 30# Stealth on one of my baitcast reels. Have never tried Kanzen...or any Seaguar product. Quote
