Hey guys just wanted to know what the best reel is in this price range. I want a 7.0:1 gear ratio or higher 4 jigs and t-rigs. I'm think daiwa tatula, shimano curado, pflueger supreme xt or lews pro speed spool? My friend has the bb1 pro and I really like it but its the most expensive of these 4 and I'm wondering what the best value is

Tatula R 8.1 can be found for $135 or so, hard to beat. 13 *** can be found on sale for Memorial Day, nice deal there too. The Curado I is a nice reel, though I preferred the Tatula Type R and ended up selling the Curado.

BPS PQ now only $89.00 ...Just ask Edwin Evers how he likes them !

In the $150+ range - Daiwa Tatula or Lew's offer much better quality build and performance now than Shimano .

All the major mfg's are producing great reels in this price range.  Find one that feels comfortable and has the type of braking system that you enjoy most.   At this price range it is hard to make a bad decision.

Agree with aavery.  Find a reel with the braking system that you are most comfortable with.

Curado I ...l like mine a lot, that said I wouldn't hesitate to recommend the Tats... They are doing

Nicely as well... If you have the reel avail to handle ... Mount them on you're rod and see then how you feel!

Just putting this out there, since I've been in your position before. Spend an extra $50 and you'll jump up SUBSTANTIALLY in quality. For $250, I feel like I got a STEAL on the new Shimano Ci4+ reels. I refused to spend more than $200 on a reel for years and this year dropped some cash on something more expensive.... It's similar to driving a Chevrolet -VS- Ferrari. I'm telling you... just do it.

The BB1 and Pro are great crankbait reels, but the Tournament Pro is more suited to jigging and working plastics, and is easily found under $150.00 if you look around. The BB1 is great for 3/8 and heavier casting, but the TP shines under 3/8 oz and will satisfy most with the heavier riggs......

Currently this is one of my favorites and I've got a pile of chronarchs.
