Cranking Reel Under $150?

The best?  I can't answer that.  That Tatula would probably be my choice though.  You can get the cranking model for quite a bit under $150.

Tatula  P model. Only cost you about $100. I don't think anything else is that close. You might be able to snag a new Curado or 13 *** on sale for close to that price. They're both pretty sweet little reels too.

For that money If you look around you should be able to find the Lew's Tournament Pro new,  it's the best I have found for twice the money. You could save a few buck's and buy the Tournament w/dual casting control,,,,,,,,you wont be disappointed in either!

I'm a die hard Daiwa guy, but I had problems with backlashes whenever I attempted an extra long cast with my smaller cranks.  I solved my dilema with a Lews with dual cast control.  I likely could have gone to any reel with brakes rather than magnets, but I'd heard good things about these and Cabela's had them on sale, so I picked one up last week.  OMG, I would have paid twice the price if I'd known how well the dual system works.

Love my Daiwas, too.  Pick up a TD-Z 105H.  Personally can't afford a Diawa finesse reel.  The 105H will zip a 3/16 oz. Shad Rap out there a good distance.

 

Bought a TP about 3 years ago.  Got to use it a little before my youngest (at that time) grandson decided it was his.    8 yr old (back then) with a $400 combo.  MSRP...not my cost.  Since then I have picked up a couple of the older gold Carbonlites.....dual brakes...$130 for the pair.  Love them for throwing the 3/16 oz. Shad Rap.  A Prolite should be even better....if you can find one.

At 100 dollars the Tatula would be hard to go wrong with, the Curado E5 is a very good reel, I use the older winch on one of my rods and like it a lot as well.    Lot of good options in your price range.

If I had $150, and wanted a crankin reel, Id call Ron at Valley Sports and ask for pricing on a Curado I.

Lew's makes an awesome reel could get a BB-1 fro that price or a tourney pro if you look around. Also the BPS pro qualifier is a lot cheaper and is an awesome reel

BPS PQ 5.2:1, Lew's Tournament MG 5.4:1. If you can part with another 30 bucks the New Curado I in 5.5:1 is worth it from what I know.

Cabelas has the Lews Laser Pro Speed Spool on sale for $79. That's $50 off for that reel. That's a heck of a deal.
