The strike king squarebill has been working very well for me the last couple of weeks. I was just wondering if the spros are worth the extra $$$ Just thinking about getting some because of a promo at tackle warehouse for free fat papa 70 w/ purchase of spro hard bait

Spro's are very well made baits with better components than SK baits.  They also have a different shape and different action.  It's hard to compare the two.  The Spro Fat John is the closest to the SK sq bills but it's still very different.  If you are interested in trying 2 Spro baits then it's worth it.

I have caught fish on both baits but there are some differences between the two.  The Spro dive quicker, pull harder and have a narrower body (litte john)  and flatter sides than say a 3X or 4X SK, the result is a tighter and faster wobble.   They both work,  sometimes one will when the other wont.  I think the quality of the Spro is slightly better than the SK, but that is just my opinion.

Ok sounds good I'm going to order a few of the fat johns. I use spro mcsticks and aruku shads and they do seem to b high quality

Spooky Nasty, Old Glory and Chrome Olive have all produced well for me.

Strike King squarebills I will rep til the day I die, unless another sponser comes along lol. But I love these cranks very good variety of colors, great action, and I have caught tons of quality fish on them... Very durable bait I have had no problems with them except for my hands getting tired removing fish from the hooks

Ditto to what AK said.  Since the Lucky RC1.5s went away, I have been using the Strike King KVD1.5s more and more.  I've used a ton of different square bills, and none fit my needs better than these. I have nothing but good things to say.I don't change out the hooks or have to tune them at all.  Strike King may very well have the best crank on the market right now.  Love this bait.

I liked the KVD 1.5s but I very much prefer throwing the Spro Fat John/Little John in areas I was throwing the KVD 1.5.

The time to change lures is when you are not catching fish.  Your catching them, stick with what you already have.
