blackmax135 Posted May 23, 2014 Posted May 23, 2014 I've been wanting to club fish so bad but the only club in my area isn't really for me because the guys that are in it are more on the biggity side im more relaxed and talk to everyone i meet and treat them like family kinda person. They aren't like that. But moving on I wanna know what it would take to start a simple club not a tournament based club but just to have fun with people who love to fish and maybe put on our own local tournaments. Anyone have advice or had luck with things like this im wide open for ideas. Quote
Delaware Valley Tackle Posted May 23, 2014 Posted May 23, 2014 I'd consult law and tax professionals to ensure tax exempt status. I assume you'd need bylaws with specific rules governing membership so as not to have some control over the culture of the club without opening the club or yourselves to discrimination claims. I'd also map out a club charter and define the club's purpose and leadership structure. I'm sure this just scratches the surface but are my observations as a past club member and officer (secretary). blackmax135 Posted June 3, 2014 Author Posted June 3, 2014 Well ill be derned thats a mullet. Rivers bridge swamp, Goat hill is excellent if you don't mind walking in the swamp, coming from erhardt going to hampton after you pass broxton bridge plantation there will be a landing by the bridge on the right excellent fishing down there one side is private but the landing side you can walk back there. Theres a lake in barnwell you can walk all the way around good bass fishing there. And Lake warren in hampton. Its good fishing if you know how to fish it. Quote
