Super User smalljaw67 Posted May 22, 2014 Super User Posted May 22, 2014 A 1/16oz hair jig is the smallest and the largest is a custom made spook that is 7" long and weighs 2 oz. Quote
RB 77 Posted May 22, 2014 Posted May 22, 2014 Typically, for large mouth bass I'll go up to an 8" swimbait down to a 4.5" worm. Salt water bass (Calico and Sand) in the ocean between a 7-8" swimbait down to a 5" inch bait. For salt water bass in the bay (Spotties, Sandies and Calicos) between 5" to 3" swimbait. These are general guidelies for myself. I know people go bigger (10"+ baits and 1" micro grubs), but this is my comfort AND confidence zone. Quote

Chris9999 Posted May 26, 2014 Posted May 26, 2014 Smallest I have ever thrown would either be a mice tail on a little jig that I was going for a about 4 inch long large mouth that I had a personal vendetta with. But beside that, it would be a small rooster tail. Largest ive thrown was a 12 inch worm with a square tail. Quote
Weld's Largemouth Posted May 27, 2014 Posted May 27, 2014 1 inch grub, caught a 4 lber 14 inch Berkley worm with twisty tail, caught a 6 lber Go figure lol Quote
Super User SirSnookalot Posted May 28, 2014 Super User Posted May 28, 2014 Over the last couple of months I'm using nothing but home made streamers on a 1/8 oz jig head for bass and peacocks. Heavy lures means a heavy rod, don't care to fish that way. The heaviest I use are my home made barracuda tubes which weigh about 1.5 oz. used on a mh rod. Nothing quite beats catching a fish on a lure you made yourself, better yet watching some else do it. Quote
Super User Teal Posted May 28, 2014 Super User Posted May 28, 2014 Smallest is a Bento Minnow 3" on a drop shot. Man those things are tiny. Largest, probably not the heaviest, but def the bulkiest is Flash Mob A Rig with 3/8 or 1/2 oz heads. Quote
