tritz18 Posted March 23, 2011 Posted March 23, 2011 I am finally giving in and going to buy some GMAN's jigs, question is which ones?!? What is everyone's favorite size, color and styles? I have searched past posts and nothing with to many specifics. Anything would be helpful, I plan on fishing them on my Avid that goes up to 5/8 oz. Thanks Quote
Super User senile1 Posted March 24, 2011 Super User Posted March 24, 2011 I like GMAN's regular wide gap jigs with the wire tie for $2.35 a piece. I personally think the quality received for the price is a real steal. If you want better paint and eyes on your jigs, buy his Elite wide gaps for slightly more. However, the paint on his cheapest jigs is excellent and the hooks are great in my book. They handle grass and vegetation well too. I have also had quite a bit of luck with his finesse jigs. A bunch of guys on here like his Cousin-it jig (Mop jig) and I plan on buying that soon, as well as some of the bullet grass jigs. (I had meant to make this purchase already actually.) Every time I look at his site I see something else I want. The Brush DNA Image jigs are some of the coolest jigs I've seen and at $2.85 each for anything below a half ounce, I think they are a steal too. These same jigs are only $3.10 for 5/8s ounce up to 1 ounce. To be honest with you, I don't think the man makes a bad jig so you have to purchase the jigs that fit the situation you are fishing. (I am not sponsored by or in any way associated with Siebert Outdoors. This is my true opinion. If you like good jig fishing, I don't think you will be disappointed in GMAN's stuff.) Quote
Nibbles Posted March 24, 2011 Posted March 24, 2011 I've found his round rubber finesse jigs to be a great bait for numbers. Quote
dgretz Posted March 24, 2011 Posted March 24, 2011 Is there website someone can post where these jigs can be bought? Quote
Nibbles Posted March 24, 2011 Posted March 24, 2011 Just do a google search for "siebert outdoors". Quote

tritz18 Posted March 24, 2011 Author Posted March 24, 2011 Is there any size difference between the 1/4 and 3/8 jigs, besides the weight? Like is the skirt or hook different or is the head just lighter? Quote
Nibbles Posted March 24, 2011 Posted March 24, 2011 Heads are lighter plus smaller. Not sure if the hooks are smaller too or not, but IIRC his 1/4 oz jigs had hooks that were about the size of a 2/0 or 3/0, which is still plenty big. Quote
tyrius. Posted March 24, 2011 Posted March 24, 2011 I fish 1/4 and 3/8 oz. After that, I don't have much of a preference. I have a bunch of his finesse, football, and widegap jigs. They're all great quality (both paint and hooks) and the price can't be beat. I don't know of anywhere else that will sell you a jig that nice for the price he sells them. Wire tied finesse and football jigs for 2.25? Widegap for 2.35? I even use his roundball jigheads for smallie fishing (grubs). My next order will include some grass, brush, and mop jigs. But everything I've tried has more than lived up to the price. Quote

Super User Jigfishn10 Posted March 24, 2011 Super User Posted March 24, 2011 tritz18, Don't be afraid to give GMAN a PM. He's a super guy and I'm sure he will help with any of your questions Quote
Blue Streak Posted March 24, 2011 Posted March 24, 2011 You can't go wrong with any of his jigs and he is helpful if you pm him. I suggest buying a small selection and trying them to see what you like best, none will be wasted. Quote
