atpns1234 Posted May 22, 2014 Posted May 22, 2014 I caught 23 bass and 1 warmouth in about 4 hours today. By far the most in a day I've caught. Wondering what everyone else's is? Quote

OK Bass Hunter Posted May 22, 2014 Posted May 22, 2014 Caught a fish on every cast for 20 casts at a place we like to call Pond X. Quote
RipSomeLips Posted May 22, 2014 Posted May 22, 2014 Caught a fish on every cast for 20 casts at a place we like to call Pond X. Ummm, you told me where pond x is on the second Tuesday of last week, but you were in a hurry so you probably don't remember. Any-who ....could you give me THE EXACT GPS coordinates again, thanks. Muhahahahaha 1 Quote

flyingmonkie Posted May 22, 2014 Posted May 22, 2014 Dragging a C-Rig up a ledge at lake Tenkiller about a decade ago, caught a dozen quality LMB and smallies in about an hour. Caught good fish on my favorite lake, watched the sunrise, and enjoyed perfect weather. Not necessarily my most productive day, but was one of those rare perfect moments in time. Quote
Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted May 22, 2014 Global Moderator Posted May 22, 2014 I have no idea what my best numbers day is. A couple buddies and I hit the smallies just right a couple years ago and caught 256 of them in a day. A couple years ago when I kept track of every fish I caught I broke the 100 mark a few times. I'd rather catch bigger fish though and would have to say my best day was the day I caught a 30lb 2oz limit, in Kansas, in February, all on swimbaits. On top of that monster bag of largemouth, I had over 30 wipers from 4 to a little over 8 pounds. I was exhausted from fighting fish by the end of the day. 2 Quote
gobig Posted May 22, 2014 Posted May 22, 2014 My best day happened on Clearlake last year. We had 47.83 (7 fish) in a team tournament. I don't know exactly how many fish we caught but I would guess some where around 30 that were over 5 lbs. Quote
Super User SirSnookalot Posted May 22, 2014 Super User Posted May 22, 2014 Could not possible recall all the great days and great fish I've caught. I had a career day a few years, understand this in saltwater it's near impossible to catch a 100 fish. The fish here must be caught during their "window", it may only be seconds or minutes, then they are gone. Fishing at the inlet I caught a snook on every single cast, about 20 of them, then the window closed and that was the end of it. Not the biggest fish but a real fun time. Quote
VAHunter Posted May 22, 2014 Posted May 22, 2014 Not sure about best numbers day. I've had many days I've caught more than 100. However, I did find the bass stacked up one January day and caught 78 in three hours on a silver buddy. Nothing huge, but many of them were more than 4 lbs. Quote
HeavyFisher Posted May 23, 2014 Posted May 23, 2014 Best Day this Year: I never fish for quantity, always quality. That's why i fish with large swimbaits. I had multiple fisherman tell me that day my lure was to big to catch anything.....lol Quote
KYBassin' Posted May 23, 2014 Posted May 23, 2014 Best day? I've had plenty of days with a good amount of fish and fish with size. But I would have to say the day I was fishing a private quarry pond with a few buddies and had to jump 15 ft down a rock cliff to lip the probable state record my friend had hooked. A few pics were snapped, which I haven't seen in about 20 years, and the fish was released. Quote
Creekcrappie Posted May 23, 2014 Posted May 23, 2014 From the bank probably 17 bass in 2 hours. Gave me a ton of confidence in a fluke though. Quote
OntarioFishingGuy Posted May 28, 2014 Posted May 28, 2014 8 bass in 15 mins at night off of a dock on a jitterbug. Doesn't get any better than that. Quote
Super User Dwight Hottle Posted May 28, 2014 Super User Posted May 28, 2014 My best day for largemouth was best five fish weighing 43+ lbs down in Mexico at lake baccarac. 2 Quote
fishva Posted May 28, 2014 Posted May 28, 2014 In terms of quantity, I took my kids out one evening about 2 years ago. I didn't even get to make a single cast, because they were reeling in bass after bass and all I could do was be their first mate. Still, probably the best time I've had fishing. 1 Quote

Super User everythingthatswims Posted May 29, 2014 Super User Posted May 29, 2014 I have had plenty of awesome days, but it's too hard to pick a specific day. One of my favorite days was when I landed a chunky 3lb largemouth, a very nice 3.5-4lb smallmouth, and a 12" wild brook trout all within 100 yards of each other while I was kayak fishing on a small river. The trout had been washed down from the Shenandoah National Park 20 miles upriver during a flood (water gets up over 75 degrees in the summer, way too warm for trout to survive in) and somehow had eaten my senko, definitely one of the craziest things that has happened to me while fishing. It also happened to be my personal best wild brookie (I like chasing the little guys with a fly rod from time to time), I never expected to catch my best wild brook trout while bass fishing. Quote
fishva Posted May 29, 2014 Posted May 29, 2014 Sweet It's mostly sweet. But now I can't impress them anymore. I'll come back from a great couple hour fishing trip, and they'll ask me how I did. I could tell them I caught 15, and they'd just shrug their shoulders because they've outdone me. Hah. Quote
reb67 Posted May 29, 2014 Posted May 29, 2014 Best day on the water I will have to go with the first time I went out on the bay with my brother and 10 year old nephew for the first time, we were fishing for cobia my nephew was so excited for to catch my first cobia every time a rod went off he would say that's uncle Bubba's. I got exhausted from reeling in sharks and rays but after the ninth take down I finally landed a 45lb cobia. I don't know who was happier my nephew or me, because I could now stop reeling in fish I was spent. That was a good day. Quote
Super User SirSnookalot Posted May 29, 2014 Super User Posted May 29, 2014 I was in Puerto Vallarta about 12 years ago, actually was there to play golf. I took a day to go out on a charter, 3 of us on the boat all strangers. My first fish may have been the toughest fight I have ever had including billfish, a 100# amberjack that may have taken an hour or so to land. Through out the day myself and my companions were catching snapper nothing less than 20# and all kinds of dorado big and small, have no idea of the numbers. I gave all my fish away except a peanut (a reference for a small dolphin) that the hotel prepared for our dinner. I was so sore that I could not lift my arms to comb hair, I don't have to worry about hair anymore.......lol. Quote
