He didn't name a price as he was looking to trade first but said he'd take cash. It's an abu garcia ambassadeur revo stx on a Fenwick Techna AV 7' rod. One question I did have was, the reel says ambassadeur on the front and then revo stx on the side, but I thought the ambassadeur and revo series were different, is that normal to have it named ambassadeur and revo? Anyways, assuming nothing is wrong with either, what's a good price to offer for the combo? Thanks! Quote

Super User new2BC4bass Posted May 21, 2014 Super User Posted May 21, 2014 I think the rod was originally in the $200-$229 price range. I've bought a couple at around $100-$110. Which generation reel is it? I personally would prefer the Gen 2. However, my Gen1 STX is my go to reel whenever I visit Florida as it is spooled with 40# braid. Price is also determined by the cosmetic and mechanical condition of the reel. If in good cosmetic condition, I wouldn't hesitate to pay $100 for a Gen 1 and $125 for a Gen2. Normally mechanically the reels will be fine. If not a trip to DVT cost less than $20 for cleaning plus shipping and any parts that may be needed. Still worth the money in my opinion. EDIT: You can always start low and increase your offer. I'd start with $150 for the combo. If he went for that, you would have one sweet deal. Quote

The rod retailed for nearly $200, but could be found much cheaper. I'd probably offer $160-$180 and hope to get lucky. Most I'd pay is maybe $220, if condition was excellent. Quote
