What do you guys think the gen 1 rods are worth in good condition? I've read some older reviews and they all seem positive.

I usually expect to pay between 50-75% of the new price for used equipment, depending on condition.

You can get them from 100-130. The worst thing is you broke it and shimano will give you a new red one.

It will ultimately depend upon the condition of the rod. The Gen 1 Cumara rods were all right around $230 to $250 depending upon model. When the rods were being closed out you could often find some models as low as $100 to $130. That said the rod typically go from $100 to $160. I have 4 of them still and will never part with them.

Thanks for the info guys.  There is a medium and medium heavy that I have my eye on.  I wasn't sure about the warranty, that makes me feel better that they will honor it even if I'm not the original buyer.

I passed up on other rods to get any Gen 1 cumara I can find.  By far one of my favorite rods to use.  Unfortunately I came late in the game and they were all gone.

I have 2 7'-4" casting rods and they are great rods. They cast well and are light and sensitive.

They guy takes trades, was thinking of trading a kistler argon in medium heavy for a medium heavy cumara and picking up a cumara in medium to go with it. Just wasn't sure how much better the shimano was then the argon since I've never fished a cumara.

Gen 1 Cumara rods are amazing....I would love to find another 7' 2" MH/XF...

and Shimanos warranty is amazing.

I bought a 6'8" mh cumara from tackle warehouse for $99.00 when they were closing them out. Should have bought several. I have a chronrch 50E on it. That is my nicest combo.

I ended up getting 2. Both are medium power. One 6'8" and one 7'2". I think this will help fill some gaps I've had in my combos. They feel great. I'll be keeping my eye out for a medium heavy.
