I heard about that Beast yesterday - So glad we got to see it.

It sucks that they have to kill a fish to verify that it's a record, because that would have been a new state record more than likely! Either way, it's an awesome fish!

Records indicate that the Wisconsin State record Smallie is a 9 lb. 1 oz. fish taken in June 1950 from Indian Lake.

 

This latest huge bass seemed close to that size for sure.

am I the only one thinking, "geez, you are a guide, buy a decent scale."

 

I understand the scale might be dead on accurate.....but I want to see the digital!!!

Brian, most digital scales are far less accurate than a good spring scale. The big advantage to a digital is the it's easy to read and photograph.

I understand Francho, that's why I said it the way I did......I am sure that rusty spring scale is SUPER accurate (which is the reason it has lasted this long)

 

I just always hate to the see the word "approximately" used when talking fish weight....... spring for a really good scale (no pun intended).

I weigh all my fish with a Zebco Deliar, lol.
