Super User deep Posted March 23, 2011 Super User Posted March 23, 2011 I picked up a bag of these in 6" on clearance from Walmart. I thought I'd give YUM plastics another try. If anyone has used this particular bait, some tips would be great. I was thinking about weightless T-rigging, which is my go-to with worms. Is it heavy enough to rig weightless? Pitching or drop-shotting might be good options too, what do you think? Also, should I use a swivel to cut out on line twist? I don't use a swivel with senkos, and it has worked out fine for me. The only baits I actually use a swivel with are zoom flukes. Of course, I'm throwing these forked dingers on a spinning set-up. Quote
Five-Alive Posted March 23, 2011 Posted March 23, 2011 I got some from the tackle shop on clearance for $1.00 per pack. Mine did not to sink very well (I was using an o-ring and finesse hook but added some lead to get them to sink a little faster and have caught right many on them. Quote
7mm-08 Posted March 23, 2011 Posted March 23, 2011 I don't use them personally but my fishing buddy absolutely slays the fish using them. He texas rigs w/weight so I can't advise about fishing them weightless. Quote
VABassin'14 Posted March 23, 2011 Posted March 23, 2011 I have caught a ton of fish on these texas rigged. This was one of my top three producing methods last season, and I have already caught a few on them this year. When I found them in the clearance bin at Wal-Mart a while back I Picked up almost every pack of them that they had. Give them a try and if you decide you don't like them, I'll take them off of your hands. Quote

I'll be using this in/ near the back of coves with a bunch of grass and weeds. The water depth is probably 5 - 10 feet max. One of the reasons I like weightless is that a weighted hook gathers up all the trash on the bottom. Quote
KC Bass Fanatic Posted March 23, 2011 Posted March 23, 2011 I like to TRig them with a light sinker and flip them. There are days when I can slay them on it and others when they won't bite it. Good bait to have around though for sure. I also like the Zoom fork tail. Quote

Avalonjohn44 Posted April 8, 2011 Posted April 8, 2011 I cleaned my walmart out of these baits, they were on clearance over the past month or so I've probably gotten about two dozen packs of 4, 5, and 6 inch dingers in various colors... They produced yesterday, I tried them on a football jighead, and got a ton of hits, but landed four - all dinks, around a pound. But the dingers seem to work pretty well. Quote
