Hey guys so the Little John MD is one of my favorite cranks. However I wish I could get it down to around 10 ft. Right now I get 7, maybe 8 on a good long cast. I am currently using 10lb Pline Fluoroclear which is copoly. Should I go to 8lb fc to fix this, or do you think 10lb fc would be enough of a change from 10lb copoly?

Why not just go to the Little John DD instead?

A 10lb fc like Sniper has roughly the same diameter as 8lb Floroclear. Even a 10lb line like Super Natural or Senshi would have a similar size difference. Any of these choices might add a couple feet.

The DD is supposed to run 18-20 feet and the baby DD is supposed to get around 14 or 15ft. The Md is advertised to get down around 9 or 10ft, it just is not with the line I am using. That is why I want to use that rather than switch.

Ok thanks, I have been looking at Invisx (sp?) Ill try it in the 10lb first then. Thanks again!

upgrade your hooks and rings (more weight)

use 10# line

tune your bait to run perfectly straight

and you will hit your target depth on a long cast.

I've got the Baby DD and it gets down to about 10-12 feet on a long cast with 10lb copolymer fwiw.

So do all the Little Johns just end up shallower than they actually say by a lot? How deep does the actual DD go?
