aggiebassin Posted April 12, 2007 Posted April 12, 2007 my local tackle store had zoom 30% off and i bought some speed craws. do any of you guys fish these on a tx rig?? i have some buddies that fish them on c-rigs regularly. but on my main waters, really shallow water, i hardly ever fish a c-rig. but my bread and butter is tx rigging plastics. they look like they would put off some good vibrations w/ the claws, so i'm guessin they will work? but was just wanting to hear some positive reinforcement on my purchase.... thanks jason Quote
Super User .ghoti. Posted April 12, 2007 Super User Posted April 12, 2007 A t-rigged craw is one of my go-to baits, particularly in the spring. I haven't used the Zoom's much. I statrted with Salt Craws, then Power Craws, and lately I use more Paca Craws for t-rigging. I still use the Power Craws for jig trailers, but the Paca has become my main t-rig craw. If t-rigging is your bread and butter, then a craw is right up your ally. I've had the best success with contrasting color claws. Cheers, GK Quote
aggiebassin Posted April 12, 2007 Author Posted April 12, 2007 i have fished tx rigged craws as well. my favorite is the gene larew salt craw black w/ blue pinchers. awsome bait. probably my favorite and go to bait. the lake i fish is loaded with crawfish and the bass key on them. seems they produce more than lizards or worms or anything else for that matter but i haven't been able to find them around lately. so i figured i would give these a try Quote
Super User Catt Posted April 12, 2007 Super User Posted April 12, 2007 I usually have 2 rod rigged Texas; a Worm & a Craw Worm I prefer Gene Larew Salty Hawg Craws in 6, 5, & 4 In south east Louisiana and south west Texas Zoom's Ultra Vibe Speed Craw is extremely popular on a Texas Rig. Quote
wickyman Posted April 12, 2007 Posted April 12, 2007 I prefer to rig everything Texas style, as of late. I find it a lot easier to yank through the weeds, and it gets hung up a lot less! I was rigging my worms and such, on a Carolina rig, but found it problematic. I have some craws TX, and some C-style depending on my fishing location! I live near Clear Lake, out here in California, a recent stop for the bassmaster's elite, as many know, it was on ESPN this last weekend. We have all sorts of bass, and in this picture, I caught me a post spawn mamma! Not very big, but she was beautiful! Quote
