I caught a toad( my pics are on my friends phone yet so i cant post them yet:( with a spro popping frog. I still have to practice to set the hook at the right time. the bass was 20 inches and weighed 7.5 lb

Nice! If this is one of your first trips of the year/summer I can see your year/season is off to a great start! Now I just gotta find those closer to me. Whered you catch it?

Way to go Kevin!.....Tell us what equipment you were using , line, etc.

I was a dinky 5.5ft reverb shakespear pole with a sakespeare excursion reel on with 6lb on it

We made a mistake when we were measuring. We thought 1ft 10in was the equivalent of 20 inches which is wrong. It was actually 22 inches.

That's still a fatty. I had one the same length that went 7 3/4 last year, it was 18" around, so your fish must have been pretty close to that too :eyebrows:

So, you are fishing a Spro frog on 6 lb. line?  Yikes.  I use light line all the time, but never with a frog.  In fact, I never use anything but braid with a frog.  I want a solid hookset.  Even then you'll lose fish simply because that's frog fishing.  Frogs and 6 lb. line -- you're the man.
