braided line has lightened in color    yeah i know i should change it but its still good   heard a trick bout using marker to recolor    so i just run black marker along  or do i blotch it

I wouldn't worry about it. As long as the line is still strong and casts fine I wouldn't about color.

I agree with the previous poster. Besides, is there any reason to believe that the faded color should be any less effective than the original? Not that I can think of.

i agree with the above statements but as for using a marker you can just run it up the line. I read an article on that, using a black sharpie to run the first ft or two of faded braid.

Like the others said, just run a black sharpie up the line. I also don't think it matters, but I do it to my braid. Just a confidence thing.

A fishing partner of mine has been using the same braid for 4 years..... Its still as good as ever....(Obviously on spinning gear.... Backlashes reduce the life of braid... Cutting it off the spol is painful.... :-/)

I don't know if it makes a difference or not but I run a black or green sharpie up the first 12" of line after I tie on.  I read somewhere that some pro did it so I thought I'd be cool if I did it too  ;D
