I am trying to decide between the two. It will be mounted on a 7'1" MHF mainly used for plastics and jigs. I am just trying to figure put if the Tourney Pro is worth the extra $100. I would appreciate input from any owners or people who have used them. Thanks in advance.

i have the tp and love it. however with the rebate from lews on the SS and some places doing an extra 10prcnt off, u can get an SS for 60 bucks after the rebate so if money is an issue u may consider that.

IMO the tourney as is just as good as the tp. And its 50 cheaper

The Tourney Pro with better main gear and lighter weight is the better reel over the Tournament, both have a better drag and better braking than the Speed Spool which is the reel on sale and with the rebate, it is a good reel but the Tournament and Tournament Pro are better. The SS with rebate is a great reel for the price, but nowhere near the reel the other two are,,,,,,,,,,save your money and get the TP which is a much more refined reel, all are good buy's for the money.

The TT pro its great reel. I was browsing through ebay the other day and very reputable seller was offering them for $148. Another great alternative is the Tournament MG.

Not only is it worth the extra 100, I feel like its competitive with the reels in the 250+ range. It can be found for 150 on a reg basis.

I have 5 TPs and I love then. Simply awesome little reels.
