Super User Teal Posted May 18, 2014 Super User Posted May 18, 2014 Does the purple color annoy? Ask Adrian Peterson that question. It certainly doesn't affect how he performs Are they better than the Max? Yes. They are the next rod up Quote
Super User F14A-B Posted May 18, 2014 Super User Posted May 18, 2014 Yep, had one ... Well made rod.. Great feel.. 765... I will take a Max any day... Purple water splash? I gave it up... Quote
Super User new2BC4bass Posted May 18, 2014 Super User Posted May 18, 2014 Only color of rod that bothers me is the Skeet Reese yellow. Not too fond of white, but like my Jupiter rod anyway. Don't own a Powell, but that is because I haven't found a sweet deal on one yet. From all the reviews and opinions I have read on them, I wouldn't hesitate to own one. Besides..............I like purple............girly or not. 1 Quote
Super User rippin-lips Posted May 19, 2014 Super User Posted May 19, 2014 It bothers me so much because I don't have enough purple on my deck. As for girly. You worry about the fashion side of fishing and I'll continue to catch fish. Yes it's better then the max. In my opinion it's a pretty good jump over the max series. 1 Quote
Super User Teal Posted May 19, 2014 Super User Posted May 19, 2014 ^^^^ love this guy,^^^ Good looking deck there Adam Quote
EvanT123 Posted May 19, 2014 Posted May 19, 2014 I had my two baitcast rods out today 683 endurance and 783 imx. Both under 7 feet same lure range. The endurance is a smidge heavier in power and faster in action. The endurance can take a beating and comes back for more. It's actually my frogging rod. I know the imx and endurance are separated by a huge price gap and truthfully the differences are minimal. Check out tt I believe they reviewed a max or edurance 683 and a loomis 783 and gave both a good review. If you can get a good deal; I wouldn't hesitate on an endurance and no purple is a non-issue. Super User rippin-lips Posted May 19, 2014 Super User Posted May 19, 2014 Thank you sir. I need about 6 more rods and then I'll have enough purple. Quote
robster80 Posted May 19, 2014 Author Posted May 19, 2014 may give one a shot. sheesh ive bought too many rods this year Quote
WdyCrankbait Posted May 19, 2014 Posted May 19, 2014 Dont worry about the purple, you won't be looking at the rod when you're fishing. Great rods, search and there are good deals out there on Endurances. I've got the 723C 6103S Killer 4" weightless senko/smallmouth rod/finesse presentaitions 755C 775C Great rods, a ton of backbone! I almost feel sorry for the bass when I set the hook on them. Endurance > Max Teal & Rippin-lips seem to be the Powell rod champions on this board, I bring up the rear. Good luck, pull the trigger and pretty soon you will be seeing more bass green, than purple. 1 Quote
Bass_Fanatic Posted May 20, 2014 Posted May 20, 2014 I own about a dozen Endurance rods...for $150 you can't beat em! Quote
HuskyKMA Posted May 20, 2014 Posted May 20, 2014 I own about a dozen Endurance rods...for $150 you can't beat em! Where are you finding them for $150? Everywhere I see them they are $200. Quote
Bass_Fanatic Posted May 20, 2014 Posted May 20, 2014 Yep...try thefishranger.com Call them and they will get it to you and if you buy multiple rods you will get them for under $150 with a lifetime over the counter warranty. Cant beat that!! I broke a 714C earlier this year and sent it to them and had a brand new one sent back in less than a week! 3 Quote

robster80 Posted May 29, 2014 Author Posted May 29, 2014 anyone use the 714 for texas rigs ? handle them well? Quote
Super User rippin-lips Posted May 29, 2014 Super User Posted May 29, 2014 How heavy? I use my 723 for Tx rigs that have a 1/8-3/8 weight. Over that I'll use my 714 but I'm mainly pitching things like a D bomb with a 1/2 weight to pads and cover. Open water it's the 723. Quote
Chris186 Posted May 29, 2014 Posted May 29, 2014 I don't have the endurance, but I do have two Powell Infernos. I like them a lot, I would imagine the Endurance is good too. Quote
robster80 Posted May 29, 2014 Author Posted May 29, 2014 ive got a max series 683 that im using for open water t-rigs. found a deal on the 714 figured it miggt do a little better in the heavier cover stuff and allow me to throw heavier t-rigs as well Quote
