wngan9447 Posted May 16, 2014 Posted May 16, 2014 Hey guys, I have a chance to pick up a 2nd gen revo sx and veritas for cheap... About 150. Great condition. I don't need it and would probably end up selling for a spinning set up. How's the trade value for these? I'm more of a Shimano and have never used the revo. From the search and reviews on here, it's really up in the air and not user friendly set up. That's from the quick research I've gather. Thanks guys. Quote
ColdSVT Posted May 17, 2014 Posted May 17, 2014 Im a shimano guy as well however i do own a gen2 revo stx....its really a great reel and it gets a ton of use. Super solid little workehorse for me And i really think it is rather user friendly. I use mine mainly for jerbaits and cranks with 12# invisx 1 Quote

I was actually able to get it for 100 after some negotiating. Can't wait to string it up. Quote
Super User new2BC4bass Posted May 17, 2014 Super User Posted May 17, 2014 I have a Gen1 STX and Premier so I can't make any comments from personal experience about the SX. I remember reading about how finicky this particular model was to set up. Pretty sure it was the Gen 2 model. Comments made were that it was a great casting reel once set up properly. Problem is it seemed like a lot of people couldn't get it set up properly. However, at that price and given the fact that you will most likely sell it to finance another purchase, than the reel's possible wild tendencies is irrelevant. Flip it and buy what you really want.
