Just wondering if any of you guys have tried these swimjig heads yet? I just received a pack in my latest TW order that came earlier this week. My local lakes are full of shad so those type patterns usually work great starting around this time of year. I tied two of them to try tomorrow when I go. These are the 3/8 oz size, I went back and forth on which size to order between these and the 1/4 oz. I'm glad I went 3/8 because these seem to be a little on the light side to me so the 1/4 would have more than likely been too light.

As I said I'll have my first opportunity to fish them tomorrow but so far I've been fairly impressed with their quality. Pretty good paint, nice head shape (although a couple of mine are a little misshapen), and the Mustad hook seems adequate. I'd prefer the no jack Gammy in all my jigs though if I could get it. Anyway fella's just let me know your experiences with these heads if you have any. Thanks

These are the heads that is use tot tie my own swimjigs, they are great, better than most of the jigs on the market, and quite affordable... also you can get them in a variety of pre made patterns, i typically go black, white, and the bluegill... great jigs though...

What is it you find superior about these jigs to other jigs on the market?  I have thought about purchasing some to try but I have always used a more pointed type head.

I'm looking at their punching weights.  5 weights and 5 skirts would cost about as much as on bait from a big box store.

I've also used the pointier style heads for my swim jigs but I found these to come through wood fairly well. Granted I have all of one trips worth of experience with them but they worked fine. I still prefer the Dirty Jigs swim jig just because of the hook, both heads use Mustad hooks but the DJ's has the bigger 5/0 hook which I personally like better. I can say though that I'll definitely be ordering more of the BOSS heads in the bluegill color.

I'll be using these throughout the summer and fall so I'll report back if they don't perform to the level that I think they will in grass. I didn't fish any grass yesterday with them so I'm still not sure how they'll do but they did come through the laydowns I fished them in well. I think you'll be satisfied with these heads if you were to give them a shot.

Just wondering how you are liking these. I ordered some just to try. I like mine for the most part. A few complaints though. The weedguard is a tad stiff/thick and short for my liking on a swim jig. I ordered 2x 1/4oz 4 packs. I have tied up 4 so far and 1 of them will turn on its side when retrieving.  It cannot be "popped" in placed while retrieving. They do use a good hook..no complaints there. Decent paint job, too. The keeper for the skirt is nice but the bait keeper could use some tweaking. It's adequate though. They do come through wood pretty good but not any better than Brovarney's.
