rvadog Posted May 15, 2014 Posted May 15, 2014 Hey guys, I just bought a home on a canal in Sunrise and want to build a dock. Anyone ever done this before? How did you sink the posts? I'm a little worried that there's going to be very little substrate before hitting limestone. Thoughts? Quote
Super User BassinLou Posted May 15, 2014 Super User Posted May 15, 2014 I would consult a professional before I would remotely try to build my own dock. Imho. Safety, stability, and integrity of the dock is my primary concern. On a side note: Congrats on the new home purchase!! Quote
Hyrule Bass Posted May 15, 2014 Posted May 15, 2014 definitely consult a professional. you will probably need permits and everything. and if you plan to install something like a boat lift its going to need to be super strong and need a roof. honestly though i have no idea what kind/style of dock you have in mind. if its nothing too elaborate, maybe pay someone to drive the posts for you and then you can build the rest around it.
