bassheel Posted May 15, 2014 Posted May 15, 2014 Which rod are you throwing your senkos on? I hear a lot of different rods.what determined your choice? Right now I'm using a medium casting crucial 6'10" should I change? Quote
Arv Posted May 15, 2014 Posted May 15, 2014 Medium or Medium Heavy depending on the rod and the conditions Quote

jlwest506 Posted May 15, 2014 Posted May 15, 2014 i have a 6'8 mh and i throw senkos on it alot., even had a 40 yard hook set the other day. I think the question you should ask yourself is " are you catching fish on your rod or missing them" . If you are hooking most of them, unless you just want another rod , stick with what you got. 1 Quote
Super User Tywithay Posted May 15, 2014 Super User Posted May 15, 2014 Which senko? I throw my 4" on a medium and big 7" on a medium heavy. Depending on the cover, I may power up to a heavy too. Quote
JGBassinAL Posted May 15, 2014 Posted May 15, 2014 I throw strictly 5 inch senkos and I would never throw it on a medium. Most senkos weight 1/2 oz weightless... Quote
rawjuice Posted May 15, 2014 Posted May 15, 2014 depending one the senko your using size/weight but most use 6'6"-7' M-MH Fast action Quote
Super User F14A-B Posted May 15, 2014 Super User Posted May 15, 2014 I throw em on a heavy.... But I would use a medium in the right water. Quote
Super User J Francho Posted May 15, 2014 Super User Posted May 15, 2014 Within reason, I generally let cover dictate what tackle I use. Obviously, you're not going to do too well throwing 3" senkos with a flipping stick and 30# fluoro. Anything from a medium light on up to medium heavy should get the job done. I prefer a fast or extra fast taper for plastics. 1 Quote
