paulmandude Posted March 10, 2011 Posted March 10, 2011 I finally was able to get out to the shed and check out my soft plastics. Quite a few of them are waterlogged. They are in the original packaging. Just wondering if it would affect action and if there was a way to remove the moisture. Thanks! Quote
Super User roadwarrior Posted March 10, 2011 Super User Posted March 10, 2011 Take them out of the bags and spread them out to dry. You will know almost immediately if they are good to go or need to be tossed. Quote
bassmasterdb33 Posted March 21, 2011 Posted March 21, 2011 i'm sure they are ruined. The salt soaks up the water and makes they look like crap. Quote
Super User Grey Wolf Posted March 21, 2011 Super User Posted March 21, 2011 Please explain to an old dummy how plastics can get watered-logged. I 've never experienced that. Quote
Mattlures Posted March 21, 2011 Posted March 21, 2011 Like RW said, leave them out to dry. If they are non heavy salted baits they should be fine. The moisture will evaporate and their color will retun. Plastisol absorbs water. after a few hours baits will turn a milky color. The longer they are in water, the more they absorb and the whiter they become. If they are exposed for too long they will start to break down. If they are heavy slat baits, this doesnt take long. Leaving them out of thier bagswill allow them to "dry" and return to normal if they are not too far gone. Quote
