Been fishing ever since I was a kid with my dad, but recently he's given up on that and is the hunter type, while I stuck with the fishing. 17 year old living in a small city, just bought my first baitcasting combo this year, a Lexa-100 and a Daiwa T-Rod. Other than that, been using odd's and end's spinning reels and rods. Mostly been fishing for walleye, largemouth, and smallmouth, but haven't caught any bass so far this year. It was fun learning how to baitcast on my own, and those backlashes sure are a fun learning experience. We've got some nice rivers in my area like the Wisconsin River, and a few nice ponds here and there. There's a place with clear water and some big largemouth bass, but I can't get them to go for any of my baits. They either turn the other way around or just don't notice it at all. You can either see them under the floating plants or just swimming under the sun. Any tips to pull them out?

If the bass aren't noticing your offering, maybe try fishing with a wedge of cheese on your head, they'll notice then. :eyebrows: ...I'm just kidding Bud, take it from a chowda head from Boston, we're glad you joined!
