A new one under warranty or a new one at your cost?  If it is a warranty replacement it seems like a no brainer to me.

A rod can be successfully spliced by a competent rod builder with little to no perceptible change in performance. Whether or not the rod in question is worth the cost to repair is up to you. This isn't a job I'd recommend as a DIY for a 1st timer, but I'll help you through it if I can.

If it has free replacement warranty like shimano you can do that. Ive have rods that have broke right above second guide. I took second guide off,put new tip on it.The rods fish just fine, you loose some tip flex.
